Has anyone bought or handled this new gun? It has been out for about a month already. It's half the price of a FN five seven pistol and it is suppose to be solidly built. I just don't like the plastic feel of the the FN. I wish more gun manufacturers make guns for the 5.7.

I was all excited til I saw it looked like a cheap Mac-10 kitbash. I'll pass. The Five -seveN might cost 2x as much but it will fit in a CCW holster.
Wait, they put a muzzle break on a 5.7x28mm pistol? The pistol round that is known for light recoil and its loud noise?
I also agree with Dr Rob, I don't see the need for the butt to be that big on a pistol. I'm waiting for someone to come out with more conventional handguns that use the 5.7x28mm round, such as Glock, Springfield, S&W, Ruger, Sig, Beretta, HK, etc. In fact, I'm surprised Taurus hasn't made a 5.7x28mm clone yet.

With any luck this will help drive down the cost of mags (they appear to be the same as FN) and possibly but not likely the ammo as well. This may be the start of other gun manufacturers jumping on board with this round.

I'd like to see some new guns for the 5.7 but that thing is just plain ugly.
I agree, them MPA mac style have a low score in the looks department, but they carry 20-30 rounds in a "somewhat" small package. It won't conceal very well either. I just need something that I can carry in my laptop bag along with my pocket 9mm when I m in those "iffy areas of town."
I just bought my first Five-seveN two weeks ago, ran into another one (used) for a great price and picked that one up too because I like them so much. I haven't shot or seen the one you mentioned but if you don't like it, don't be afraid to fork the cash for the Five-seveN, I'm sure you'll love it.
And someone mentioned the ammo being expensive? Idk what price's are throughout the country but here in the Twin Cities I pick up 50 round boxes of the ss197 for $18.50. Didn't know if it sells fast or not so i didn't take any chances and picked up 1000 rounds.
Either way I would like to see more pistols and rifles chambered for the 5.7x28. I think it'd be a good varmint round as well as a good self defense and plinking round. With the right bullets for usage of course.

For whatever reason I can never find 5.7 in the stores near me and when I do it's always outrageous. You found a good buy by my standards. The only way I can get bulk 5.7 is to buy from Cabelas. I'm still undecided about reloading it as it apparently has a pretty narrow safety window and the dies pricey.

Even so, not a great performance on the guns part in staying intact.
The kaboom is exactly why yoy shouldn't reload for 5.7x28. I've read quite a bit about it and unless you're extremely careful and precise I wouldn't shoot anything but factory ammo. There was a thread somewhere about a guy having a kaboom and tried to blame it on the pistol firing out of battery (which he couldnt prove) but he WAS shooting reloads WAY over the Max pressure limits. He even tried to get a replacement gun from FN even tho they specificly say DO NOT FIRE HANDLOAD/RELOADS. ONLY GOOD CONDITION FACTORY AMMO!
If you want a high quality pistol go with the FN. I have no experience with the MPA but i highly doubt its even on the same level as the FN.
Flyskater - I wouldn't let that one "kaboom" scare you away from the Five-seveN. It may feel cheap because of all the polymer used but i can't say enough about the quality of the two I own, and my FN fnar and FN fnp-45 for that matter. They make a very high quality weapon. Did you read the article that goes with the kaboom? It sounds like it was 100% the shooters fault for not knowing what he was doing loading the finicky 5.7 ammo. From what I understand its very touchy.

Yeah, most KB!'s that happen seem to merely blow out the magazine, sometimes more, but this one blew itself literally to pieces. Common? Design defect, probably not. KB!s sometimes happen.
I also wish more would jump on board. I was first excited to hear that more companies would put some 5.7x28 guns out, but why use a uzi/mac10 style? For some reason I've always hated the uzi style.
I guess I was looking for a more traditional/practical looking firearm.

The trouble is that the length of the round precludes using current models. A new frame would be required - and that is expensive.
I have no issues reloading the 5.7. I consider myself an experienced reloader but not an "expert." Yes, care is needed to resize the brass, as well as trimming it, and removing the staking of the primer pocket. I don't push the charge to the max, and I don't reload brass more than twice.
I think all gun mfrs "warn" not to use reloads.
