It started out normal I swear. I had just finished paying for an ice cold Coke at the local gas station and was walking out the door when it happened. One very attractive well dressed woman walks up behind me gently puts her hand on the top of my back and whispers in my ear "That's some nice equipment you got in your pants". At first I was totally caught off guard then immediantly pleased she liked my equipment:evil:. When she was about 10 feet in front of me and well certain I was uh hem observing her walking away (it was for her own safety, just making sure she got to the car ok being the gentleman that I am and all) she ever so slightly lifts her blouse above her waistline to let me catch a glimpse of her well uh hem Sig Sauer:neener: (guess she dosen't need anyone to protect her) tucked in nicely just behind her right hip inside the waist of her perfect fitting skirt.:what: HOLY COWWW! :what:It hit me like a ton of bricks I very quickly checked my hip and sure enough I had the ever feared grabbed my wallet and my shirt hung up on my grip and now I'm exposed to the world slip up. Besides being very much embarressed:eek: I learned 3 very important things today.

1) I got to start carrying my wallet in a different pocket.:banghead:

2) Don't ever judge a book by it's cover. That woman in that outfit I'd have never guessed there would have been a Sig hiding in there.

3) Hot chicks think my equipment is NICE. Well maybe the day hasn't been a total loss.

Well guys have fun at my expense today I deserve it.

Exposing your equipment can happen. It just helps to demonstrate that no on really cares. And if the nice lady hadn't shown you hers you would still have that stupid grin on your face.;)

Awesome story:D

You are right in being aware of where your wallet/cellphone should be. Since I answer my cell phone laot, I keep it on the opposite side of my IWB holster of my gun. And when I need to pocket anything on the side of my gun, I do it purposefully.

I have a carry permit, and unless I am mistaken it makes it legal for me to carry most places. I'm not that concerned about "Being Made"
Unless part of the law is that you carry concealed why are so many worried that they get made?
I'm more concerned that my attitude changes when I carry, no super hero syndrome or laziness about my safety, than I am about being made.

No phone numbers for me loneviking I'm a married man with a knockout red headed wife that can most likely already out shoot the pretty blonde.

Mr Dig being made in my neck of the woods is a very bad thing. The county I live has zero issues with concealed carry but if it's out in the open where it can been seen by all they consider that brandishing a firearm and it is treated very harshly. That being said I was glad someone let me know my equipment was showing.

LOL thanks for this! I'm forwarding it.

The only armed beauty I've ever encountered was a quiet Russian [strike]girl[/strike] woman I used to work with. I was suprised to see her at the range one time, shooting a Glock. She was pretty good with it.

In some states, it is part of the law that you must carry concealed and it is a violation if the gun is even inadvertently exposed.

cute story and you need to completely reevaluate your concealed methods.

in CT the police would have been the most likly outcome.

in your head, and in your home--go through the motions of your day discover what needs to be changed. simple things like bending at the knees vs the waist; or reaching for thing up high with your weak side arm. avoiding the 'klunk' when walking through a crowded door way or avoid chairs at restraunts the have wooden arms. and on & on
for those suits types, shoulder holsters are making a comeback tied in with the new line of mini power packages; like the Solo and p938 for instance.

Honestly, this sounds more like a "why to expose your CCW" thread ;)

If you're going to be "made" while carrying, I can't think of a better way to be made!

What he said ^^^^...... Like where I live open carry is a no no. Get caught exposing and you can be charged with a number of things including but not limited to Brandishing and the really bad one Impersonating a Law Enforcement Officer. A simple slip up like I made could have cost me more than my pride for the day. Thankfully I was made aware of my slip and it was corrected all in a matter of seconds. If the LEO sitting at the booth enjoying his morning coffee had of been the one to notify me of my error it might have not been such an enjoyable experience but probably just as memorable.

I might need to do this as well, but I certainly don't want to and I feel like I'd hate it anywhere else. Being right handed, I just want to draw both items from the same location.

I was washing my hands once after using the bathroom. I'm obviously bending forward over the sink. A guy behind me, who has known that I carry for years, says to me, "I can see your unit". I did not respond right away.

Its a tactics fail, she snuck up on you.

and could have yanked your piece away from you
Wow you are right !!!! I didn't even think about that...Yikes...She could have janked me she already had the drop on me. I don't use a retention holster when carrying IWB like I was today. Kinda scary when you look at it like that. Any recomendations on a good retention IWB anyone. Guess I'm shopping for a new holster. Thanks for killing the fun but good point.

I do refrigeration service work and one of our customers is a small natural foods store owned by a woman I would guess to be in her late 30's or early 40's. She carries a Glock in the small of her back usually covered by a sweater or loose fitting blouse. Given the setting I don't think most people would even consider that she would be a CC permit holder and a firearms enthusiast. I have often chuckled to myself while servicing a piece of equipment in there and listening to some bunny-hugging granola type asking her about some organic natural supplement.
