Need Luger help

They were extremely helpful to me when deciding whether to purchase my Luger.

How to post pictures here? And on other sites?

The easiest way is to get yourself an account on PHOTOBUCKET.COM or a similar free photo site, upload your pictures there, and get a LINK from that site to your photo or photos.

It's really pretty easy, once you get over the relatively simple technical stuff. The site I use has an IMG code associated with each image that I can just paste into a response I post on this type of site.

Just make sure the pictures aren't too big. You can test them, and change them, if necessary. Most photo sites will let you adjust them once you've uploaded them, too.

That's a more rare (but not necessarily more valuable) variant... you may have difficulty finding ammo if you plan to shoot it. That's not a negative, just a "difference." That caliber was more common in Europe, but not seen as much here in the U.S.

Is it possible it may be an M23?

If it is stamped "Germany", it was brought in an an import, which reduces its value a bit. We'll need to see pictures all around, or contacting some of the Luger experts would be even wiser, as they have all the necessary data to evaluate it.

Commercial Luger, probably from the 1920s. Without anything further to go on, it's probably in the $1000 ballpark. Condition and matching numbers (or not) could bring it up or down about $200 in either direction.

Do you have a mag? Are all numbered parts matching? How is the bore?
I would value it between $950 and $1150.

This forum is not the best place for what you need. You're expecting "specialist" advice from people who aren't Luger specialists.

Just a heads up though, you're going to need some good photographs.

Those guns were produced in Germany after WWI when the Versailles treaty prohibited manufacture of pistols in the millitary 9mm caliber. Most were reworked and rebarrelled military pistols with the markings removed, but some were police pistols. Either way, the collector value is fairly low, and the ammunition expensiive. On the plus side, 7.65 (.30) Luger is a pleasure to shoot and feeding problems are almost non-existent.

Why not? You could always resell it and make $400-$500 easy , should you tire of it.

As stated before it's a DWM commercial from the 1920's....

I have one identical to it in my collection.

$300 is a STEAL.

If you want a Luger this is the best deal you are likely ever going to come across.
