Thought it appropriate to post good warranty service since most only post bad service.

I had to send two Kahr pistols back for service. My P9 had trouble with the magazine release. The magazine kept dropping out or would not stay in place. Another, a PM9, had a small area with a polymer nubbin that was contacting the slide making removal of the slide difficult. I could have sanded it down myself but since I had to send the P9 back, chose to send the PM9 back in the same box.

I got the PM9 back a couple days ago. The packing slip said they replaced the barrel but it looks like they replaced everything except the polymer part where the serial number is attached.

I got a call last week about the P9. The rep said they don't make that particular type of that model anymore and gave me a choice of any of there 9s, new, the whole thing. I chose a new, in the box PM9. Since it is a whole new gun, it has to be shipped to a firearms dealer. That's OK, I can drive a bit for a new replacement.

I've got to complain about something--I'll have to break-in a new gun. Kahr recommends 500 rounds, my kind of work.

Did you have to pay shipping ?
Well, yes and no. Kakr gave me shipping labels for FedEx but I live in the sticks. My box was to big for the two drop off locations and it was 26 miles round trip to a Goin Postal that does FedEx. The USPS was one mile away. I paid the eight dollars to ship USPS there and they shipped to my door FedEx except the one I pick up at the dealer.

WOW that is great service. I have my eye on a Kahr for a near future purchase and I am big on customer service. Is it good to hear some first hand examples of positive customer service from them.

Also, if I read that right it only cost $8 to ship it one way thru the USPS? Did you ship the whole gun? Did you have to declare it a firearm?

Yes, actually two whole guns in the same box. No bullets, slide and magazine removed and in separate baggies. I found out the hard way from previous shipments with USPS parcels not to use the "if it fits, it ships" boxes unless the weight is significant. You can't even recycle one of the Post Office's boxes covering it with tape. Costs $3.00 more for the "fit it ships" than a similar size small box.

If I had it to do over, I'd probably insured shipping since there was two guns in the box. Would have cost another $7-8 bucks but worth the piece of mind, or drove to the FedEx store using Kahr's shipping label.

I told my postmaster it was a gun. He didn't care as long as it was in pieces and no bullets in the box.

When I received my bullets, I notice they come in "if it fit it ships" boxes. My postmaster grunted when he put the first box of 2,500 on the counter. Wanted to know what the heck was in that little box.
