trouble on deciding what gun i want.

There is a lot of cool stuff for Glocks.

Have you thought about a G34 or a 17L ?

I purchased my 17L just to have fun modifying it, then I found out it's a lot of fun at the range.

I have the same problem all the time. I'm going through an ordeal right now that is similar. do i want a 1911 in 9mm or a lever action rifle? Hmm... too many variables. If I were you I would go with consider the financial situation and how it plays a role in the purchase. If you are hurting for money get the glock, if not build an ar. The vast amount of options available for building an ar will most likely lead you into spending small fortune. Build the ar in good financial times and get the cheaper glock if not. That's my logic. You obviously need both anyway.

I am going to purchasing .22 pistols for my kids and somekind of CCW for myself - either a Rohrbaugh R9 or a Kahr PM9 (possibly a Boberg XR9-S "Shorty")

The other things that I am waiting for are the Charter Arms 9mm pitbull (CARR) and the Hiezer DoubleTap.

So mostly I don't have a lot of decisions to make yet.

It says your from Illinois ( so am i). And you said you were getting a gun for CCW. Since i live in Illinois. i know you cant carry concealed. Unless your a retired cop.

Ya, I was for waiting for us to get CCW this session!

Phelps did that interview with Fox news saying we were just 2 votes short and he thought we'd have them - blah blah blah.

I have been waiting for CCW legislation to purchase a pocket nine.

I guess I could purchase one anyway - regardless if a bill passes, but I've been waiting.

So while I'm waiting I don't have to make decisions on what gun to buy next since I'm just waiting...

I was thinking about getting a glock 17 or building an ar-15. I cant decide which one i want more than the other.
I feel like I'm taking the bait on something but so be it.
So, do you already have a gun? A few? Lots of 'em? Do you have an intended or planned use for this acquisition? Is it for the gun range? Plinking at odds and ends? Home defense? Self defense? Collecting? Or type 'E - all of the above'.
This thread can go in many directions and there are many THR'ers far more knowledgeable than I who would be happy to help you. But it just seems a bit difficult to offer advice with too many unbound variables.

The only correct answer is get both. New Frontier Armory has assembled lowers for 99.00. Complete your Ar build as money allows. Check Midway USA for uppers that are on sale. Great deals are still out there.

Yeah, not much cool stuff out there for AR's :) J/K, but without knowing your 'needs' its an entirely personal decision. For me it was an easy one, I don't care much for glocks so I decided to build an AR.

Get the AR and then step around the Glock and get yourself a Springfield XDm.

just my thoughts.
