Which Pistol? 3 Proven 9mm's

I'm going to my local gun store soon to handle them all, but I would like to get some insight on which is an excellent all around target, plinking, and home defense pistol.

I think they all are. 8) Not kidding. You really did pick three good guns for just that job.

Same as Nushif. It would be almost impossible, and RECKLESS, to recommend one over the others; they are all that good. The Glock, however, should be the lightest to carry, as it is half plastic, if weight matters.

You've got 3 of the best there. Not a wrong answer. My 1st one was a G17, but I wound up liking the 75B better so traded it for one. No regrets. Some will argue the G17 is best for HD/SD, but I think they're all equal if you train with them. I like the feel better of the steel guns, especially for target and plinking. You don't mention SD/CCW, but if you're looking for this too, then that would change my answer to the G17/G19 as these are easier for concealed carry due to lighter weight and smaller dimensionally.

Try and rent them if you can.

I had a glock 17 for a bit, and while it wasn't the most comfy for me, It was either really accurate, or I just shot it well. Either way, you really need to shoot em to know!

Still sad I sold it just based on comfort =[

Well I carried a Beretta 92 for almost 4 solid years and loved it. Glocks are fine guns just the angle of the grips doesn't suit my hand well so I avoid them. I personally think the CZ is the best of the bunch (I do own one) however sometimes look ruff finish wise they always seem to fire. Now I bought a Taurus 92 and actually like the changes Taurus made to the gun over the Beretta such as putting the safety on the frame rather than on the slide. My also has a tactical rail added, which to me isn't a big deal but to some it might be. Beretta has a better finish however both guns shoot the same and based on mine with well over 10K rounds through it holds up as well. Many of the parts are also interchangeable, such as locking blocks and barrels as well as some springs.

It should be very easy to decide between Glock and CZ/Beretta. I'm not saying there's a right decision, but I think the CZ and Beretta have a lot of similar features, while the Glock is different.

The CZ base model is DA/SA, although you can get other variants, and the Beretta is DA/SA. These will have fundamentally different trigger systems than the Glock. Especially if you plan to carry, it is important to know the difference, and plan ahead based on what you feel offers the best option (the safe first pull with faster follow-ups, or the safe pull for every shot - for consistency - but a heavier pull on follow-ups).

Hmmm...WOW thats a tough group as all 3 are awesome in my book.
If i had to choose then i guess i would go...

1.CZ
2.Glock
3.Beretta

To be honest you cant go wrong with any them.If you want something poly/light weight then glock.If you wanna feel some steel(alum) then go cz or beretta.Which ever feels better in your hand.Nice choices to pick from.Win-Win no matter what you pick.Let us know.

That is like deciding which car to buy based on sitting in the drivers seat and never driving the car. Gotta shoot em to know what works best.

One of these things is not like the other.

The Glock is a striker fired polymer gun.

The other two are DA/SA metal framed guns.

Between the Beretta and the CZ I recommend the CZ. If you want a DA/SA metal-framed gun compare those. If you want a polymer striker gun you should be making different comparisons (ie, Glock to M&P or XD).

Glock- G-17 and G-19 (and seems like the G-26 too) run as reliably as anything ever built. HOWEVER ; I just don't feel that comfortable in off duty type situations where the gun is not in a hooded and protected holster, even then watch the reholster ! I carried a Glock 17 from the 80s and the 26 was my last BUG in LE use. The triggers are never anything to write home about and neither are the sights.
Beretta M-9 : Seem to run about as well as a Glock (better with the heavier or oddly shaped loads) but bigger and heavier. The DA lets the gun be carried in an uber safe mode yet gets into action quickly. Giant handy ejection port.Can be made to have a good DA trigger and great SA trigger. The sights can be up graded too with good results. Big tho compared to a Glock but mine is a first choice if I had to go into a war type scenario,Aluma gripped,LPA sighted and accurized it is loaded and holstered with 20 spare mags on a vest .
CZ-75: Super accurate, reliable (at least my P01 is) , compact and feels good. Not that great a trigger in either DA or SA but can be made useable.Sights up gradeable as are grips all with moderate difficulty. But a sexy compact tack driver with wonderful ergos and a small ejection port. My P01 is under my bed, sort of, loaded with 15 127 grain +p+ Rangers and with a light on it.
Browning Hi-Power: My favorite of the bunch: a superb trigger is easily had and is fast into action carried cocked and loktd which doesn't scare me like a Glock does.Just a fast damn bullet hose and carried in a speedy holster is a top (minor caliber) gunfighting pistol IMHO. Good sights are obtainable but I use the factory sights well, Novak does a great job on these. BHPs are really a great pistol IMHO, even if the ejection port is a little small.

I have had a Glock 22 and a CZ75B but no Beretta 92 so I can't comment there.

Any of the guns you chose will do fine for the purpose you want them for but for me from a personal standpoint, I prefer the CZ75B to the Glock simply because the CZ feels great in my hand while the Glock doesn't. The CZ's recoil is lighter due to the steel frame so follow up shots are easier IMO. Both have a large selection of aftermarket parts available.

I actually sold my Glock 22 a long time ago because I didn't like it but the CZ75 will definately be sticking around.

Out of those 3 I'd personally go with the cz75b or bd (decocker version)......the Cz is so comfortable
and accurate ...just very fun and easy to shoot...

My all time favorite 9mm is the sig 226...definitely check one out..

Of those 3, Glock hands down. The other two have issues.

But I would also consider the Smith M&P and the Springfield XD or XDM

For home defense I like to attach a light or light/laser combo so the CZ 75B would be out. If you were willing to to consider a CZ 75 SP-01 it will do everything and shoot just as well as the CZ 75B you have listed.

Since you have carry as an option I would say go with a G19 vs the G17, easier to conceal and a little lighter.

I like guns that are natural pointers in my hands and Glock's do not fit me so they would be last on MY list.

FWIW if choosing between the 3 I would go like this

1. CZ 75 SP-01
2. Beretta 92A1 (M9)
3. Glock 19

I agree completely.

CZ is last, due to mechanism.

Beretta second to last, due to durability issues and slide mounted safety. (the 92G would alleviate side mounted safety concerns)

That leaves the Glock of the guns listed. If you can hide a 19, you can hide a 17, so it's whichever one feels best. If it doesn't "point right," there are ways to fix that. Glocks are durable and user friendly. You can replace any part on a Glock using a rusty nail as a punch while sitting on a flat rock in the dark, in the rain. You can't say that about any other serious handgun.

I am sad that the Sig P226 didnt make your list...

Of those 3, I prefer the CZ for it's ergonomics and all steel construction, then the Beretta, then Glock.

Of course, I find the S&W 5906 superior to all for a FS 9mm auto.
