Good handguns in 9mm or up , but for $350 and below

So as the title reads, are there any good handguns in caliber 9mm or larger for $350 or below. If so anyone care in pointing some out to me. I will be on the market for a handgun once I sell a rifle I don't use anymore.

It's gonna have to be something used. You can find FEG Hi-Power clones for around $300 and pre-B CZ-75's for down around $350. Otherwise, you're looking at Smith & Wesson Sigma's, Ruger P95's, Kel Tec P11 and PF9's, then on down to Hi Pont's. You might also find a Norinco 213, but the price on those seems to have escalated beyond reason. Anyhow, there are plenty of decent handguns in your price range.

You might get luck and get a LEO trade-in Glock, but they're getting pretty thin, or the Smith & Wesson 59xx LEO trade-in's.

Shoot, being in PRescott I would think you could walk yourself over to J&G's and have a look. They usually have decent pricing on a lot of stuff.
 
Budsgunshop.com has the ruger p95 9mm for 329.00 right now but it can be had on sale from them for 300.00 from time to time. Its a nice accurate dependable 9mm. Comes with two 15 round magazines and a magazine loader.
 
S&W 6906. Great little 9mm. Not one fail round after round.
Only problem is that it has a magazine disconnect safety. Light gun, 15+1 Capacitym 3- dot sight, SA/DA hammer.
 
wow, that sig looks like a good deal. Never owned one, are they good guns? Like in the sense of are they reliable enough to be used for carry? I will be 21 at the end of the year and would like it to be something I can use for carry as well as just blasting at the range.
 
My initial experience is that it's great. For a polymer it's kinda heavy do for carry I dunno. My suggestion is to go rent one to get the best feel for it. But at that price you won't find a better full size IMHO.
 
Sigs are great guns. I have no experience with the newer polymer models, but I have a P228 that has been flawless. I actually use it as my daily carry gun, even though it is an all steel gun. With the right belt and holster combination, it isn't bad at all.

The Sig would definitely be my first choice (or maybe hold out for a bit more cash and pick up one of the import/surplus P226s) but you also have several other surplus guns in your price range. Most of them are in 9x18 as opposed to 9x19, but they are still better than a sharp stick. Occasionally you can find a good deal on used guns if you keep an eye out on the forums. I just picked up a good .357 S&W Model 19 for $325, and I believe Buds has (or used to have) some .38 special revolvers for a good price recently, so there are some good options in your price range.
 
Well, I had a S&W mod 60 .38 spl revolver, I just don't know not a fan of the wheel guns. At least not that one.

One thing I forgot to mention do the Sig's fight both right and left handers? I myself an a lefty.
 
+1 on the Sig 2022. You aren't going to do better at that price. I've carried it's predecessor (the 2340) for a decade and still love it.
 
Sig Sp2022 and the Taurus 24/7 OSS both in 9mm can be found for under $350 and sometimes the Taurus can be found new for under $300. I hope this helps. God Bless :)

I bought an RIA/Armscor MAPP1 MS for $300 + tax (6%) a year ago. It is basically the same gun as an EAA Witness P with a different slide design. Both guns are made by Tanfoglio out of Italy and assembled but different companies.
 
If you want a double-stack 9mm, the SIG SP2022 can easily be found new for $350. I don't have much personal experience with the SP2022, but I've heard only positive things about it.

If you want a single-stack conceal-carry, the Kahr CM9 occasionally goes on sale at Palmetto State Armory for $350. I got my CM9 there for $337 out the door (factoring in sales tax and a 10% store opening sale). The CM9 is a fantastic little pistol - well made with a nice smooth (if long) trigger, uber-reliable (mine didn't need any break-in, ran perfect right out of the box), and surprisingly soft-shooting for such a small and lightweight gun. I would personally rate it much higher than the Ruger LC9, M&P Shield, or Beretta Nano. About the only thing in it's class that I think is a clearly better pistol (not counting the Karh PM9, which is just a more expensive version of the CM9 with a polygonal barrel and a fancier slide) is the Walther PPS, which is much more expensive and a good bit larger.
 
You should be able to pick up a Ruger SR9 used, and in good condition, for $300-$350.

I think they are pretty good guns, especially for the money. There have been a lot of reviews and threads about them on THR, so if you're looking for more info, that's where I would start.

I just went through this, and settled on either a Hi Power clone, Ruger P95, Taurus PT92, or S&W 5906... all of which have been mentioned in this thread.

From these, I narrowed to the Taurus or the S&W, and waited for something to come up at $300.

I ended up with a Taurus PT917c (a PT92 with shorter slide/barrel, which is the equivalent of a Beretta Centurian) with three magazines, holster, and pistol case for $300.
 
Any S&W 3rd gen model. 5904+5906 are full size. 6904+6906 are more compact. I have the 6904 and it eats any kind of ammo you give it and it plenty accurate. Very reliable and easy to find under $300.
