Im in the market for a Glock for the sole purpose of attaching a MechTech upper to it and turn it into a carbine and using it to shoot at long distances. And by long distances, I mean 200 yards. I'm trying to choose between the Glock 21 Gen4 45ACP or Glock 17Gen4 9mm.
9mm: Accurate, fast, cheap to shoot, but any wind and you will notice
45ACP: Accurate, more powerful, heavy and will drop faster but wont be affected by wind as much What do you think? 9mm or 45ACP? Any advice would be appreciated. Keep in mind, I'm looking for the most accuracy I can get out of this. I'm not concerned for power or personal defense. My 1911 is for that
I should also mention that i said 200 yards because thats how far the ranges near my house go out to. I will stick within 150, but I will attempt the 200 every now and then once I get it built just for <removed> and giggles. I'm just trying to figure which caliber I want. Anybody reading this, feel free to comment. My friend and I go to the local range and plink at 1 foot diameter steel targets with his 9mm at 150 yards. It has a Mech Tech upper on it. We wouldn’t be able to hit it without that long barrel and stock. Were good shots, but not that good. Anyone who can do that with a normal pistol, much respect to you.
