My New Mausers!

I bought these Mausers today from my neighbor today take a look:

1. VZ24
2. M48
3. M48 (same one)
4. 1895 Chilean Mauser
The whole package for $400.00

$400.00 for all of them!

The key is don't act gun crazy when you are dealing, and always walk around with a roll of cash so you can be prepared to make an offer. If you see an individual selling their guns they are hard-up for cash (as a general rule).

Don't worry about it, someone selling their guns needs the money and if you don't get their guns someone else will (Pawn Shop). I'll guarantee you that I gave the guy more than a Pawn Shop would have.

Exactly, people forget that a large part of the price is markup. I don't know how long the guy had the Mauser(s) but I don't think it was a recent purchase. The M48 (light one) is a Mitchell's Premier Grade, but again I didn't tell the guy to overspend for one either.

OTOH, it looks like a really nice mil-spec so it might be nice to leave it that way. Is the chilian just the barreled receiver? If so, it's good for a build in 7x57 or .257 Roberts, just stick to lower pressures.

The Chilean is just the barreled receiver, I would probably have a professional builder turn that into something nice, I might would have it re-barreled into 6.5X55 or I might leave it 7X57.

The VZ24 will be a custom build, I thought about 35 Whelen with a real nice hand carved Monte Carlo stock of an exotic wood. I was going to leave it alone but some a.s.s. stamped R-GUNS right on the side of the receiver, I know about import marks but that's ridiculous.

Nothing Bubba would do, strictly professional.

I thought I would start a new thread but I will just add to this one.

This morning I drove past the guy's house I bought the Mausers from and he was having a yard sale and he had this Winchester for sale so I picked it up as well. Not a dent, ding, or scratch anywhere its in mint condition.

Since I don't have to give my real name (people won't look me up in the phone book and call me a scoundrel), I paid $140.00. I tried to get it for $100.00 but he wouldn't go that low.

I know he has a Luger pistol I want really bad, but I don't think he is ready to part with it.

We have person to person firearms sale in North Carolina, no paperwork and no problems.
