Which size rear sight do I need for Hi Power?

Is your front sight the small/round staked in military style or is it dovetailed in?

You might be able to find an adjustable sight that fits in the dovetail but you'll also need a taller front sight.

Your options:

1. Contact a gunsmith who is experienced in BHPs and talk with them about having the slide milled for new dovetails (and potentially more milling to "sink" an adjustable rear a bit into the slide for a lower profile).

There are a handful of great BHP smiths out there that will know what you're options are.

2. Buy another BHP with factory adjustable sights and keep the fixed sight version (who doesn't love another BHP right?)

3. Sell your fixed sight gun and buy another with factory adjustables.

If you can post a photo of your slide and what type of sights you currently have that will help. Or at least a detailed description.

EDIT...you posted one minute before my post haha. Okay...you are really going to want to go with an adjustable rear you will need a new front sight...best thing would be to have new dovetails milled or options 2 or 3.

Well, that's more complicated, as said. You'll need a gunsmith to put on the right height/width front sight unless you're super handy. Go dovetailed if you decide to do it.

I have NovaK sights on mine and I had Novak do the reliability package a couple of years ago. Could not be happier with the results of both decisions.

Try some heavier slugs. What are you using?

Try some 124-5's. It'll print higher.

Low POI is a common problem for an inexperienced shooter dealing with the heavy Hi-Power trigger pull. It's actually quite rare to find a good pistol (such as FEG) to shoot that low. May I suggest first to try shooting the pistol from rest, or even ask someone, that has a reputation as a good shooter, to try the pistol. One more thing - there isn't really a problem with the "old school" military sights (considering that the pistol will only be used as a plinker) - you just need to get used to them. As time passes by you may even find them more precise compared to the modern monstrosities that manufacturers put on the newer guns...
