9mm TC encore carbine suppressor advice

Choose one from one of the big players: AAC Ti-Rant, SWR Octane-9, Gemtech Multimount all come to mind. (The Osprey-9 being eccentric would look kind of funny on a thompson center rifle, IMVHO.) However, they are one and all over your $400 price point.

You can easily make 24" with a 16" barrel and the suppressor, so that shouldn't be an issue.

The AAC Eco-9 and Thompson Machine Isis and Isis 2 are all under $500 MSRP. Those are what you'd be looking for. I have an ECO-9 and I can attest that it is a really good silencer. It isn't user cleanable (ie take-apart) but that's not the big deal everyone makes it out to be. The Isis 2 is a take-apart can.

Ive got an Isis and I love it. I use it on my auto Glock and Encore with 38 WCs but I prefer my customers Mystic on it. But for a good, cheap, lightweight can its hard to beat an Isis which takes multimount pattern mounts same as the Mystic. The TM QMFII takes all the Isis mounts and sounds pretty good shooting 9mm through it.

If you are goin to shoot cast then get a can you take apart to clean. The Isis, QMF, and Mystic all come apart idk about the AAC I dont really care for AAC. Ive had no issue with cast myself from my encore and the only thing I hear about it is that its dirtier

The new Isis2 is $359 then with the FBA its $55 but it takes all Multimount style adapters

The Wraith XL in 9mm is pretty nice shot one on a 9mm SBR pretty quiet and they rate them for 357 mag so if you ever got a 77/357 or a Handi in 357 youd be good to go on that one and I think stalking rhino industries can jailbreak them so you can clean it

Stalking Rhino can jailbreak it so you can take it apart if you would like or you can send it back to YHM and have them clean it

and to jailbreak it all you have to do is have your dealer ship it with a copy of the form 3 its on to SRI they jailbreak and send it back when its done then you dont have to wait the nth months to possess it and then ship to SRI

If you want to shoot it on a pistol I would say go with the IsisII or Mystic(or Infinti) because they take multimount adapters

Also get what you want on a bbl from MGM in writing they messed up my barrel not bad or anything but i was kind of butthurt about it

I asked for the standard twist rate for 357MAX which is usually 1-14 or 1-16 they gave me 1-18 so i have to check for stability on the heavy bullets everytime i try a new one out

I asked for the barrel to be threaded 1/2x28 they did 9/16x24 had to buy a new mount

But its an awesome bbl and will order another but will get everything on paper

They also fit the barrel to your action at no charge just ship it and they pay SH back

For a pistol can, I wouldn't buy a sealed can. Not with all the take down cans available these days. Why pay SRI $300 to jailbreak your sealed can when you can buy one that is already user serviceable?

Be aware that if you're buying a can across state lines, you'll have to have it sent to your in state FFL/SOT to do the transfer anyway, so you're probably going to end up paying a transfer charge to your local Class 3 NFA Dealer anyway. Find out the charge for that service and keep that in mind as you look around.

I think the Huntertown Arm's Guardian 9 would also fit in your budget, and is user serviceable. The Guardian 9 is also listed as having steel baffles, and that's generally viewed as a plus. As a disclaimer, I don't have any first hand experience with suppressors, as I've just ordered my first last week ( SS Sparrow). I did research makers for around a year before I bought, and Huntertown Arm's was one of the makers I was considering before I got a deal on the Sparrow.
