Mmmm mmm good. It just doesnt get any better than this when a man designs his own 1911 and carries it around. You gotta love Mr. Wilson and his fine instrument which keeps our world free. Mr Wilson is not a sexy character nor does he look like he could join the Navy seals, but in this video, he shows you he is not exactly one of those "soft targets". When times get tough dont worry about the Seals or the Marines, all you need is Bill Wilson and his personal carry 1911.

Bill Wilson is the right arm of the free world. Your everyday citizen keeping us all safe by designing and carrying some damn fine 1911s.

There are probably dozens of Bill Wilson listings on whitepages.com of every major US city.
The price tag of Wilson .45 was complete price tag shock to me.

I remember terveling around the country on the competition circuit back in the 80s and 90s and watching Bill Wilson shoot. He is very very good.

A little hyperbolic, maybe? Wilson makes some great guns (or so I've read; I've not had the chance to shoot one), but there are other good makers. Do you really think that "the free world" would suddenly become a whole lot less free if Wilson closed up shop? He makes a product for sale, and there are many substitutes for the products.

Those other posts are hilarious. Does he expect other people to take him seriously? Does he take himself seriously? If he actually owns a shop I'd avoid it at all costs.
 
The last two I read claimed a .45 was a "weapon of mass destruction" and the other referenced defending school children from child molesters at 200 yards with a handgun. I think someone is in the eighth grade...
 
Bill Wilson is a founding member of IDPA and he is a Master class shooter. I would expect his El Pres to go a lil better than it did in the video! LOL
 
That performance was a solid "B" class in USPSA or "Sharpshooter" in IDPA

I'm surprised someone thought it worthy to start a thread with it.....
 
Some of you guys just dont appreciate my enthusiasm which is surprising. This is an enthusiasts site so it should come as no shock when you see someone displaying some enthusiasm.

Bill Wilson is the legend of the 1911 world. He is the Prince, the Rockstar, the main man, the zen master...if you dont know Bill then you don't know 1911s.

The Sig 1911 is an out of the box type pistol. Sigs are produced at a factory of sorts and their accuracy is amazing when you think they are assembly line handguns. However, the Wilsons and the Baers are handmade fine tuned machines. The Les Baer 1.5 inch line is probably the tighest and most accurate of them all. Some folks are better shots with a Les Baer 1.5 inch model at 50 yards then some people with an AR15.
 
It's not your enthusiasm that's in question, it's the weird way you express it. Wilson builds nice guns. One could even correctly say he builds exceptional guns. I don't know about him being the right arm of the free world, and guys that can outshoot people with rifles at 50 yards could do that with any gun. Just, you know, tone it down a little, dude.

Umm, there's a difference between enthusiasm and over-the-top exxaggeration.
Come on now. "Weapon of mass destruction"? "The best 1911 ever"? "Right arm of the free world"?
 
You guys crack me up. When you spend your life smithing, dealing and competing you reach a certain Zen. I enjoy what I do from day to day...thats how I get my "high".

There are certain rockstars which come to mind in the 1911 Universe. Its kind of like the Marvel Universe, but Bill isnt going to fly out in his iron suit. Instead, he is going to come walking out with a serious 1911 which makes heads turn. 1 inch at 25 yards gentlemen! This thing just melts in my hand its just that smooth.
