In terms of fit, finish and ergonomics the most impressive plastic-framed pistol I examined. If you buy one don't like it and sell it you will likely get 40 cents on a dollar back.

I haven't had the pleasure of live fire with one, but I have handled and dry fired the 'C'.

Great trigger. Ergonomics were better than expected. The slide profile is very low. It is similar in terms of balance to my SR9c, which I think is a good thing.

I am a dyed in the wool Glock guy,but wanted something different fo once.I was try ing to decide between the Walther PPQ,FNS-9.I rented both and couldn't make up my mind.The PPQ had the better trigger but the FNS-9 was easier to conceal.
Then a friend of mine bought a Caracal F and let me shoot it.I was amazed at how well I shot it.I couldn't miss. I ended up buying a Caracal C and am amazed by it.It has a lower bore axis than a Glock and the best trigger I've felt on a striker fired polymer.
So far I have shot 825 assorted rounds through it without any failures.I shoot it better than all my pistols and I can conceal it well.

Wonder if they'll make anything other than a 9mm?

We had a discussion not too long ago about a Caracal promotional video with an IPSC shooter and it "appeared" to have fairly long trigger reset for fast double-taps (the well accomplished IPSC shooter on the video seemed to be slow firing). Apparently, the long reset is part of the safety designed/engineered into the trigger.

I need pistols with trigger that will allow me to perform accurate and fast follow up "double taps".

Anyone run the Caracal through a match stage and compared stage times to verify this about the trigger reset? (say compared to Glock trigger reset)

I have had my Caracal F now for at least 8 months. I am a big fan and it is, to me, the most natural out of the box shooter I have ever had. I shoot a lot of different 9mms and this one was a natural shooter for me. Highly accurate, well designed and at $400.00 - HOW can you go wrong? At least they were at $400.00 last month.

I will go the C route with the Quick sights for my next pistol purchase.

I just ordered a C model with regular sights from Centerfire Systems for $399 shipped. It looks like a nice pistol and I can't wait to get it. RKBA is making holsters for all of the Caracal models.

I've currently got 3 Caracal's(F, C & C QS) and love them all.

They're high on my list right now, but I don't really need another 9mm compact or full sized pistol. I'm hoping either the "SC" or the .40 cal. version of the C or F is on the horizon.

I understand that completely. Guess I should have used the term "want".

Any that own one want to specuate on fixing the long-reset issue? How does the trigger mechanism work, compared to a Glock or M&P?

I've heard people say this but I don't really know what they are complaining about. My Glock 17 has a 1/4" reset, on my Caracal's it's 5/16-3/8".

The reset on the Caracal is worlds ahead of my M&P's and to me just as good as that on Glock's.

I'd wager a bet that the majority of the shooting community doesn't even notice the reset when shooting the guns, mostly it's only noticed when dry firing.

Well, 3/8" is a long way from 1/4" when the entire trigger swing is only about 1/2" -- small things like that can be very noticeable when you're working on speed and dealing with very carefully conditioned skills.

I'd only be interested in one for competition use, and if long reset is a "feature" that would probably take it off the table for me unless there's a reasonable fix.

Gotcha. For competition you would probably notice it.

There is a company doing upgrades for the Caracal series of guns, i'll see if I can find them.

For me, holes on target speak volumes. If the longer Caracal trigger reset is not an issue, we should see them proliferate on the European IPSC matches.

It may be a tight market competition now with S&W fixing M&P trigger with cleaner/lighter striker release/reset.

Would love to do a 3-way Caracal/Glock/M&P range test but I live in darn God blessed California!

It is easy to read and understand that many shooters never spent time behind a DA revolver or a well tuned DA revolver or they would not complain over a 1/4" here or there in the trigger pull lenght. It should be more about how well it shoots in general and functions. Before you guys know it some 1911 or witness match guys will be in this tread talk'n about there short pull and light trigger.

Or it could be that a guy who shoots a 629 in IDPA competition, at a rate better than 10,000 rds. a year (sometimes) thinks it's an important issue, too.

You just never know, do you?

I"d like to find a deal on one lnib for $160. I might try one at that price. After all, according to one of our pundits, that's what I should expect to pay, right?
