Can not carry at work

I don't fool with polls. But I formerly worked for a corporation which forbade concealed carry. I talked to management about their policy. They were absolutely so ignorant and stupid ..................... I switched companies.

I'm self employed. Considering the places I work, carrying something small would be a good idea but I leave my 9mm in the truck.

No carry conceal beyond the guardhouse. Can have a firearm in your vehicle though.

I work for a company where the employers never trust their employees to carry loaded guns to defend themselves.

freelance photographer/writer, sometimes i go places where i can carry, sometimes i go places where it's a felony to. And some guards at some of those places think my cameras are even worse than guns.

At my last job it was illegal to carry there, so I didn't. It was also against policy. It was, however, legal and okay with policy to have in your car. I left it in my car.

At my job before that it was legal but almost surely against policy (I didn't check). I carried.

I voted nowhere on property as I spent a lot more time at the location that fits that description among my recent jobs.

I was going to bring that up. Even in a "war zone". ug

Company policy says nowhere on the property with a few exceptions due to state laws. We're one of those states thankfully.

Not exactly forbidden but not feasable due to the nature of my work

In my line of work no single one of the poll options can apply to me. I've worked on an Army base in "secure" buildings, I've worked in public and private schools, on college campuses, power plants, restaurants, casinos, housings complexes, prisons, day care facilities, and in the "shop". Some places I would be able to legally carry and some not. Most contractors I've worked for do not allow carrying but it's usually due to their insurance policies and yet some contractors don't care either way. I'm a union sheet metal worker in case anyone wonders why I've worked in so many different types of places. I generally work on HVAC systems or do architectural sheet metal. Other times we weld heavy industrial equipment. I'm not sure I'd want to carry while welding. I don't know if being accidentally shocked while welding will set off a round but I don't want to find out the hard way.

lolzerz. I hear you but I might submit that where there's a will there's a way. I used to carry a gat (along with of course an Estwing) in my Occidental Leather tool pouch in the bad places. I didn't necessarily just waddle around on the ground neither.

Friday night while arc gouging I had a white hot nugget splash back into my lap, burn through my pants just to the left of my giblets as a threw my Hood off jumped up and proceeded to shake it on down my pants leg while simultaneously kicking my boot off praying it would pass between my boot and pants cuff instead if going inside. All of wich left a nice trail down my leg

No thank you. There are in fact jobs where neither you should be carrying and a gun could in fact be rendered inoperable just by being there. All of wich is before you consider having to crawl, roll around, climb, lay and work in all kinds of awkward confined positions with the risk of electrical shock and being set on fire to the mix.


I have a 12" slag hammer and lots of bulletproof cover handy while at work....ill be OK if things get ugly

Of all places I worked (manufacturing front office) none allowed carry or guns on the property. None of them actually checked vehicles though.

I have always,in writing, been authorized to carry at work. Additional security and nighttime responder to alarms.By the grace of God, it has never been drawn.

I work in EMS. My employer is a healthcare system that does indeed forbid the carry of weapons in any of its facilities. My state does have a "parking lot storage" pre-emption, so I carry to and from work.
Even if I were permitted to carry while actually on the job, I would not, as the possibilities are too frequent that we would end up in a prohibited location while in the course of our duties. Places such as mental-health hospitals and jails are at or near the top of that list, and many of them have screening policies in place.

The company I work for changed their policy to "no gun" after I had been working there for a couple years. There was no reason to do so - I'm sure some insurance agent convinced them it was risk avoidance.

I have a 300yd range behind the office where I can take out my lunchtime frustrations, but it's off limits till deer season is over. Stupid company policies...

Not going to happen here. I work in the bowels (skunk works) of a DoD and DoE facility in a secured and classified area. Weapons of any type are left in the truck. Parking lot is fine, beyond checkpoints, not going to happen. I am fine with that rule as it bothers me not.
