Just looked over 70s? ********** wonderful derringer COP. The price is attractive $399. Might be nice to have 4x158gr SWCHPs in .38 on hand. Are these reliable guns.

All I've ever heard about them is their triggers sucked horribly, where are you finding one for $400? I'm seeing them on gunbroker for at least a grand...

Save your money. They were one of the worst designs I have ever seen. Not reliable enough for me to rely on for "business OR casual use". I know several guys who bought them back when they were introduced and sold them very shortly. I have old staple guns that are more reliable. And good luck finding parts for one. Don't be that guy who buys a COP. You won't like it.

Looked over one this afternoon at Colonial Shooting Academy in Richmond Va. It has to be of substantial construction so when one runs out of bullets it can be grasped by the barrels and used as "scull peening hammer".
Previous sample I have seen elsewhere was $700.
PS. They also had seldom seen Colt 'Pocket Nine', but I haven't examined that one.

My brother has one. Super extra heavy crappy trigger, and super extra heavy weightwise. He keeps it in the storage box of his ATV. For years he kept a S&W 357 in the ATV instead.

Over the years the general concensus on this weapon , have been poor. I would not buy one after numerous negative articles I have read on it.

pablo unless you just have money to spend on a novelty. Its a real brick at 28oz and wide. Maybe buy a 357 jframe that can still weight less and has 5 shots or a buy a 9mm,40 or 45 sub compact.

I had one a way long time ago. I thought it was pretty neat up until the trigger seized up.
I took it apart and couldn't get it back together again.. I was young, no paperwork and pre-internet. The only gun I "bagged".. sent it back to the manufacturer and when I got it back, I sold it.
no thanks

NOOOOOOO! Run away, run away. Have someone else put a stake through it's heart.
I owned one for 18 months. It was in my actual possession for just under 3 months.
It spent the rest of the time either at the MFR or in transit between my FFL and the MFR.
It has almost as much firepower as a .357 Mag derringer and much less reliability.
I will tell you right now - buy a High Point before a COP.

For $400, buy it then put it on Gunbroker and at least double your money. As a gun, it sucks. On the other hand, making over $400 for about 15 minutes of work isn't bad.
