Love that Bowie Don. A few details? Tang type? Steel? Handle material?

Three knives my Wife has bought me at various times to go on my '58 Remington outfit.

Yo,

That's stag for the handle. Since it is a stag round the tang has to be a reduced tang. Since the knife is made by Ted Ott that probably makes the steel ATS-34 or 154 CM.

Yeah, not so much.

The stag was a given, the tang has to be reduced to go into a stag round and I could read the maker's mark off the tang and search it. I'm not sure if the white spacers are ivory or not, though.

Oh, and I saw him win the cutting competition at Blade a couple of years ago.

On some levels, it's hard to imagine an ESEE 5 in orange.

In others, it totally fits.

Says the owner of a 3 and an Iz 2 whose next blade will be a 5.
I know what your are saying. It should be so wrong, yet it looks so right. The lime green ESEE 5, now that's really bizarre, or is it :uhoh:

jeepnik, nice! In with the forum anniversary blade, I got the large necker and love the heck out of it, but keep thinking about getting the forum one also.

Some of my favorites...

A Boker Magnum I got as a Christmas present; A "Super Razor Blade Stainless" with a USA manufacture that was my great-grandfather's; A Case trapper; My dad's Case congress; a raindrop damascus-blade Case; a Kershaw OSO Sweet (really awesome knife); A Smith and Wesson M&P; a really old basic wood-handled lockback from my childhood; A cheap 2-blader I picked up in Chinatown that I strangely held on to for years and still like; and, my only custom knife, an ICC "Urban Tactical 2" which survived being buried in Hurricane Katrina water surprisingly well!
