gotta love Cabelas

Thanks for the heads up.
I just scored the shoulder stock to fit my '51 gripped guns.
The sale took $50 off the top, Free shipping was worth $17, additional discounts cleared another $34 from the price, for a grand total of $166.00 delivered. Yeah!

I AINT LOOKIN !!!!

Damnit, I've been watching them and the 1851 London model is $50 higher than the last sale.
Craig, don't lose hope. I think there's still a chance they'll lower it to $$249.99 again before Christmas. I'm hoping they'll lower the 51 Hickok to $249 as well. I've got my money ready!

Me neither! Gotta renew the registration on the li'l missus' truck, buy another half-dump of alfalfa for the cayuse's; and take my latest Heeler puppy to the Vet's to get "fixed" so he stops trying to breed with the 4 year old Lab/Pit mix.

(Our Vet told me about the pup needing a home while he was out doing a checkup on our mare last week. I think he's a SUPER ENABLER!) :banghead:

I've got to stay away coz i still gotta buy Janet a stone sparked pistol kit for Christmas.
Mmm....but then we're doin a gun show on saturday so we'll see.

HAHAHHA i hear ya Yumakid.
That would be a tough call for me.
Fortuantely i'm loyal to only one breed..my Rotties.

When we first met; my wife had her first Rottie, and I had my first Heeler. They became best friends as we started dating. Last Heeler we had we had was a Heeler/Rott mix; passed along to us by the little baby that was "raised" by those two dogs. Lost him 9 months ago. So now we have this Red one; named "Hank" in honor of Bocephus the Rott-Heeler.

Got my eye on that one too! Probably snag whichever one drops to $249 first. ;)

I've been telling myself that I need an 1860, but then I look at the 1861. I also find the 1862 Police a cute lil bugger. Then again, if I got me a shorter 1858, all of my 1858 stuff would work on that one and it would be easier to pack.

Then again, a big ol' Dragoon/Walker might be a hoot to shoot if impractical.

In short, I've been eyeballing this sale for a week or better. I'm holding off. I've asked for Cabela's giftcards from my in-laws and family for Christmas. Hoping to use the $50 bucks in points along with 50 bucks I have in gift cards now and hopefully another $100 by Christmas to order and get free shipping with my club card before the first of the year. We'll see;)

Fiv3r, I think you're right to hold off. I think the sale will get better in the coming weeks as we approach the Christmas shopping season. It did so the last couple of years at least. Last year they had the 58 Remmys, 51 Navys and 60 Armys on for $179.99 with free shipping. During this year's Father's Day sale in June, the 1860 Army was on for $179.

Last year I picked up a 58 Remy in August for $189 and on Nov 4th 2011, picked up a London Navy for $249.

Hold your fire!

I've been packing my 3rd Model Dragoon quite a bit these last few weeks and don't really find it to be too cumbersome. It's a big sixgun and takes some getting used to but it's not unreasonable. My only problem is that my 2½" gunbelt is too soft but I'm working on a double 8-9oz replacement. Although one must keep in mind that the same ballistics are acheived with a 36oz Colt SAA, which is a full 30oz less than the Dragoon. ;)

Like a dang fool I went ahead and looked. Not a big problem since I have enough C&B revolvers, even for me.

Then I saw that Pedersoli Sharps 45-70 for several hundred off. ARRRRGH! I already have a rolling block but that Sharps style has always appealed. (Visions of Quigley Down Under). I'll probably be able to resist but it is a struggle. :cuss:

I'm with you. Repeat mantra: I have all that I need.

Yeeeee-aaaaaah, good luck with that.

I almost caved in and looked; then my thoughtful wife reminded me that we had the first half of our property taxes due by the 15th - what a pan of cold water THAT was! Sheese, for almost 700 bucks, you think I could have a back yard large enough that one could bury a 50-yard shooting tunnel in it, but nnnoooooOOOOOOoooooo! :banghead:

You KNOW you want it, and, hell, what are credit cards FOR, anyway?
That's exactly what my Cabela's card is for!!!

Everybody should be able to get themselves something for Christmas, even if it is two months away. ;)

The sales that have been going on at Cabelas is what got me to get my 1858 .44 Remy replica.Really not bad for 229+ the tax but no S&H ! So it was worth it for me.And I was so surprised about how accurate it shoots so I'm a happy camper :D

If I'd only quit lookin' .
But, the spare cylinders for the .44 Marshall revolvers I bought a couple of weeks ago have been marked down to $49.99.
Sure glad I waited before buying them now.
No better time to get one as a spare for my 1860 London too. I really preferred the fluted cylinder to the roll engraved one that it came with.
Now if it will only take the hot-blue that my gunsmith is so expert at. I've been left to wonder if that high polished in-the-white raw steel will blue as well as regular carbon steel gun parts do.
