The .308 got new glasses today

Hey Clayne, SWEET rifle !! Can you tell me what those rings are? A buddy of mine just scored ( and I do mean SCORED!!) an new M1A with what I'd swear were the identical rings, but he couldn't tell me who they're made by.
I bought them at Cabelas, They are Blackhawk

I have not had any problems with them between me and my shooting buddie we have 6 or 7 pair in use.

Nice scope! I'm a big fan of Vortex. Especially their higher models like the HS and the PST.
Took it out and let 10 rounds fly, sighting in and getting muzzle velocity, then took at shot at 300 yards on a rock and 405 yards on a rock... both first round hits. Picked up a tall bipod and sling and buttler caps today. Its ready to go whack some coyotes!!!

And they're made be Weaver. Exact same as their "tactical" rings. Same price, too. I've got a set and they work.

those high end vortex scopes are top-notch, I forget where they are made.

The 5-15 HS is made in Philippines. I have one and the glass is good and it tracks / returns just right.

I heard the Philippine scopes show a higher degree of quality control over the chinese scopes. Also heard the japanese glass is very good quality.
Very hard these days to get a decent scope that adjusts and returns by counting clicks. Edge of lens blurring is common as well.

Don't even have to count them; it comes with zero-stop shims.
This weekends coyote competition
Left Friday night, slept in a tent in the rain, made 12 stands today, heavy clouds and some rain, drove 300 miles, 80 miles on very slick dirt roads. Competition check in is at 4 tomorrow afternoon. And I am home now where it is warm and not wet inside. Still raining pretty good out side. I will bet up an hour before the sun to see if its still raining or snowing. If not...... here we go again

It took a while for me accept Vortex as good glass, but it is just that! Nice choice.

I bought that same scope when it was on sale early in the year. The glass is very good. I finally bought a rifle (in .308) to put it on. It should arrive next week. I cannot wait to put the scope on it and try it out.
I use the tall bipod for sitting on the ground and shooting.
I packed my gun around for 2 days coyote hunting and did not see ONE dog at all!!! 12 pound rifle, and all the other essentials... man im tired!
But yeah im very happy with the scope!!

I've got the Vortex 5-15 X 44 on my LR 308 and it's a great scope. I got mine about a month before Midway ran out of them. Now says they're a seasonal item. Hope they get they back as I want to buy another one. Glass is very clear and it tracks and resets perfectly. This is my first mil dot so I'm still playing with it and learning how to use it, well worth the money. OP have fun with it!!!!!!!!
