Need help here, I picked this double stack Enterprise arms up a few weeks back it needs a barrel, recoil rod and spring, slide release, I'm not sure if it takes a full length guide rod, Called Enterprise and they said to send it back to them and they would do all the work and safety check everything. But they won't pay shipping either way and want $150.00 just in labor plus parts.
And right now don't have the extra cash on hand so what would be the best route to go on this? Should I go ahead and send it to them or try and get parts myself and do all the work?

Any and all suggestions would be appreciated

Ever fit a barrel in a 1911?

Send it to Enterprise. $150 is a very fair price for what I know they'll do. Aside from the disassembly, cleaning, safety inspections and fitting the slide stop, they will "fit" a barrel... sure, probably a semi-drop-in, but they will actually adjust fit to obtain proper timing. Well worth $150.

I get ya'. It's not so easy to come up with discretionary cash these days. You could probably make payment arrangements with them, or buy the parts, and when you've got the coin, send them the gun.

Check some other gunsmiths... perhaps there's a 1911 smith in your area where being able to work FTF might make the process a little more cost effective.

Good luck,

I echo what Creeper said in the second part of his statement. Look in your general area for a 1911 'Smith and you may save some coin. You may also make a good connection for future work.

I believe that is the same size frame as a Para Ordnance and Para mags will work in it also.

Any COMPETENT gunsmith should be able to fit and install the barrel.

Thanks guys, I know a couple smiths who can do the work will contact them and see what we can work out, sent an email to Enterprise last night about the cost of parts haven't heard back from them as of yet, when I do I'll get the parts and have the gun put together.
And creeper you are correct about the Para mags they will work in this.
This oneis called the widebody.
