.41 Mag Association

...yep...S&W discontinued the 357 NightGuard .41 Magnum first then a few months later announced the discontinuation of the whole line.

The best of the Airlite series are the 325s in .45 ACP...nice big bullet at moderate velocity and tolerable recoil...

1964 Model 58 that a previous owner parkerized... The Target grips that came on it were damaged so a friend shortened them into PC Targets....

Thanks....my friend is a professional wood refinisher...he also doesn't do a bad job with woodworking either... He repaired and refinished a set of Cokes also that had the all too often seen chip out of the rear under the backstrap...

I have some Cast Performance 250 gn WFNPB's I;m trying to find a load for with H110 and the only load I can find is in the Lee 2nd manual of 18.5 to a max of 20.5. Does this sound OK for a starting load? The WFNGC's start at 17.4 gn.

Thanks, but I already checked there, all they have data for is the 250 gn gas check, not the plain base.

Gotta say that I've got big respect for all the photos and .41 Mag folks. Lovely examples. 10mm is me, which I've always felt was about as close of a "cousin" cartridge as exists. Thanks to everyone for sharing.

The 425Ti and 415 work well with 210 grain jacketed slugs at ~ 1000fps.
The 3 inch 425 seems to prefer full power loads.

The 425Ti is wearing aftermarket grips for Smith & Wesson K/L frame that I modified to fit. The grips for the 415 and 425 Tracker were bought off eBay. I like the way
the maple grips on the 425 fit my hand, but the grips on the 415 are too thick and blocky, I will have to try thinning and contouring them to fit my hand better.

Well they dont call me the Queen_of_Thunder for no reason. Add me to the membership rolls. I own a S&W model 58 with the 4 inch barrel and am looking for a model 57 and a lever action in 41 mag. For some reason I like pairing my revolvers with lever action guns.

Nothing wrong with a 10MM. In fact the S&W model 610 is my latest USPSA revolver gun.It replaced my 25-2 for revolver matches. I'll probably switch back though as the 610 is looking more like a safe queen these days as they are hard to find at a reasonable price.

Love the 41 Magnum, here's one of mine:

New .41 magnum added to the collection. Had some time to kill this week and dropped by a local pawn shop, I asked the clerk if he had anything in .41 magnum and he did. OK, promise not to laugh, he had an RG model 57, blued with a six inch barrel. I'm fully aware that RG guns are junk and I'm sure this gun is no exception. The only reason I purchased the gun is because I didn't even know they existed and I thought it would be unique. Don't worry, I don't plan on shooting this gun. Has anyone else ever seen one in .41 mag?

I'd like to see a levergun in 41 magnum.

Marlin used to make the 1894 in 41 mag. Keep your eyes open and you might find one.

Proud owner of a NMBH and a model 57 Mountain Gun, I have only ever handloaded for these due to cost of commercial ammo, and tailoring loads to my guns.

215grn SWC plain base @ 1050fps for a plinker & 1300fps for hunting.
210 Hornady XTP's and Speer Gold Dot's @1300 fps with 19 grns H110

Both guns average 2"-3" @ 25 yds and 3"-5" @ 50 yds ...all off hand (love them .41's)

Marlin had two different runs of 41 levers;
the old ones were straight (smooth) gripped w/18" barrels or a trapper w/16" barrel
The most recent run had a pistol grip or straight grip and a 20" barrel with checkering

I looked over something that must not be all that common S&W 'Night Guard' in cal. .41 magnum. Nice carry revolver but in anticipation of holding it when round went off my palms crawled up into my sleeves and refused to come out.

The first Marlin 1894 .41 Magnum was the 1894S with a 20 inch barrel and smooth straight stock with butt plate. Later versions of the 1894S Marlin changed the butt plate to a rubber pad.
In 1999 Davidsons commissioned a run of 1000 1894 Cowboy Carbine Limited rifles. These have a 20 inch octagon barrel and smooth straight stock.
Davidson also had a run of 251 1894SS-41LTD which are stainless steel with 16.5 inch barrel and grey laminate straight stock.
The last run of .41 Magnums was the 1894FG with 20" barrel and checkered pistol grip walnut stock.

I almost bought one of the later production 1894's in 41 mag. Wish I did now. Indecision is a gun buyers worst enemy. Honestly, the price kept going up at a Sportsman Warehouse and I was hoping they would reduce the price to move it. It finally sold after sitting for 6-months.

It's not that bad really just keep the velocity < 1000 fps and you'll be fine.
