That rifle and a $1000 scope.

No idea what you're normally into, but the stuff that would be crossing my mind personally with $3k laying around(assuming it's to be spent on a single gun... I'd honestly buy one for around $2k at most and buy a bunch of ammo and/or other stuff too)

-Save another $700-1000 and buy a full auto lower priced SMG like a Mac10/11

-FN SCAR 17S

-Build a very nice AR with really nice optics and many extra magazines/ammo

If you want something that will keep its value, either a Sako TRG-22 or a GAP built rifle.

If it were me I'd spend $2400. on American Silver Eagles and the rest on a G30 and dinner

If it were me I would look at a cooper rifle. I think that a rifle like that could be passed down generation to generation and be appreciated.

That 3000 would make a decent downpayment on a new target shotgun

Or one of the Beretta O/U's, maybe a 687 Silver Pigeon II (or a III for $500 more), or the 687 Ultralight Deluxe.

Or if you don't mind a semi auto shotgun the Benelli Montefeltro Silver is a superb gun, light, nicely engraved, very decent wood, and you could just about get a pair in 20 and 12 ga.

I bought the premier semi auto handgun for myself on my 60th birthday: a Sig P210 9mm, regarded to be the best production semi-auto ever made. Mine is a 1952, made the same year I was born, and in mint condition. About $3000. Let me tell you, it is finely crafted, and as accurate as anything I already own. A nice piece of machinery. You could do worse than to buy one. Or, a custom Shiloh Sharps, like the Quigley gun, but that might take 4-5 years to get. [/IMG] [/IMG]
