They're coming to take my guns!? I'd better save the highlights of my collection....

1 - A gold plated Jimenez .380 (for the BBQs I'm always attending).

2 - Wards Westernfield single shot .22 rifle (reliability, firepower and capacity all in one fierce package).

If I could only have a third, I'd save my Blue Jacket .32 suicide special revolver! That was a finely crafted Hopkins & Allen off-brand revolver, but I don't think it would replace the golden glory of the Jimenez.

I clearly opted for the rifle and handgun option, but I didn't vote.

Handgun and rifle. My priorities go:
Self defense
Every thing else.

My handgun will certainly be a Glock 19. In your ONE gun thread, I said a Glock 29, because of the range of ammo, but since I've got a rifle, my handgun will be what a handgun should be... a backup to a long gun.

For the rifle, I will take my Arsenal SGL-21. I can use the gun for plinking, hunting, and defense. The only thing I'd need that the rifle can't do is take squirrels and other small game. For that, though, a .22LR kit for the Glock, a .22LR insert in the AK, or any other non-firearm option would work just fine.

Why, if I had two long guns, I wouldn't even need to fight my way to them because I'd have them on me all the time! I'd be all set!

OK, I'll play the game. Only two??? I voted for rifle and handgun, but it would have to be two handguns, a P-97 in 45 ACP and a 75 P-01 in 9mm as a BUG.

For long range shooting I would use my compond bow, ammo is available for it at any tree. I can also take out any of the Sheriff's henchmen at a 100 paces (that's about 100 yards for the uninformed). Why, because my secret identity is as a leader of a band of merry men in the forest of Sherwood (LOL). Besides I would have little John carry the rifle.

Well if it is two guns that I own... I guess I'll make it two handguns, my J frame and my wife's G17.

Wait, can my wife have two and I can have two?

Ok, ok, I'll play for the sake of playing. Two guns.

1. Smith and Wesson M&P340 No lock.
2. 870 police with rifle sights.

I chose shotgun/handgun- my mossy 500 and either my 1911 or j-frame
I'd really miss my .22s though.

1) Colt Government Model .45ACP with a .22LR conversion unit.
2) Colt AR-15 .223 with a .22LR conversion unit.

1. 12 gauge (Mossberg 500 or Remington 870) with multiple barrels
- vent rib with removable chokes for clays and small game
- rifled slug barrel with cantilevered scope mount for big game
- 18.5" cylinder bore for home defense

2. 4-inch Ruger GP100 or similar .357 mag revolver
- light hand loads for plinking
- heavy loads for hunting or self defense

Don't think there are two more versatile platforms.

What cartridge is on the right?

That would be a precision made slide in Krieghoff "insert" bbl., chambered in 22lr or 22WMR. (i have both) Once unlocked, it slides right out...

They go in and out VERY easily, always go back to being sighted into the sights and are as accurate as any decent 22 rifle.

VERY handy, and VERY useful for small game and pest like this fox i shot with mine,

I've taken everything from moose and bear on down to MANY smaller big game animials with the CF bbl, including this nice buck,

And the shot bbls. have worked well on ducks, pheasants and all kinds of small game, including this nice tom turkey,

It's light, accurate and just keeps on doing it all! In fact i shot a nice buck with it just a few days ago,

It's been my "go to gun" for over 25 years... I just don't need a bunch of different guns to get all the jobs done!

If I had to only go with two guns I would try to get two that were compatible in terms of ammunition and magazines. Say a .357 revolver and a .357 lever action or a .44 revolver and a .44 lever action. Or a Ruger PC4 and a P-94 pistol (same round, same magazine). And I think KelTech makes a carbine that takes Glock magazines.

That way I only have to purchase one type of round and one type of magazine although I think with the .357 I might buy some .38s for practice

Handgun/rifle.

Ruger SP101, 3" bbl. .357mag
Rossi M92, 16"bbl. .357mag

The two guns together are versatile enough to cover anything from low recoil plinking, to CCW, to HD, to hunting deer sized game and still be light, handy and packable in the event that some day I had to bug out with them. Major points for logistics in caliber consolidation as well.

Handgun and rifle for me. Leaning toward a 4" S&W .357, like a 586 or 686 and a lightweight, moderately powered carbine such as a Marlin 336 in .30-30. Both are adequately powerful for my needs without generating more recoil than most people can tolerate.

Rifle option 2 would be a .308/30-06 bolt gun, but that's getting up into a recoil level that makes practice less pleasant to me. And here in New England the extra reach and power vice a .30-30 are moot.

That is why I said to score it as a rifle for the vote. 2/3 of the cartridges you pictured were 'rifle' cartridges. ;)
