I am new to swiss rifles and bought me a K-31 recently, paid $330 for her, looked under the buttplate and had the previous owner of the rifle with the date 1944 on it. Bought some ammo for her online, can not wait to try her out, saw vids of owners of these rifles on youtube and I was hooked, everyone said it is one of the most accurate surplus guns out there for the money, does anyone know wear I can get a period sling for this rifle? 100_3363-1.jpg 100_3361-1.jpg

Thats a good looking rifle! I have one but mine needs some stock work to even get close to yours!

You'll like shooting the K-31. Get a supply of the GP-11 and go have fun!
If you reload check with "Graff and Sons" and get some Privi brass.

New old rifles! Fun N' games!

I have used the hornady loading to take several deer and it works great. These are great rifles. There used to be a seller on gb that had slings available where I got mine along with the issue muzzle cap.

They are indeed among the most accurate milsurps having both good trigger and sights.

Got a chance to shoot one of these over the summer at 300yds and was shocked how accurate it was. I'd have one, but ammo is a little rich for my blood.

We have some 1,000 meter gongs out in the desert. I decided to try the K-31 Swiss on some steel. I put a scope on with St. Marie mounts and a Brownell cheek pad. The K-31 is deadly on the gongs.:)

I'm dying to add a K-31 to my collection. Nice rifle, I think you will be impressed. I know I was when I got my Finnish M39 so the K-31 shouldn't be any different. Can't really get a bad one.

+1

I recently used one of my K's at long range steel. Pulled the Weaver K4 off and installed my SWFA 10X42HD. Using GP11 I was shooting close to my 7.62 gas gun. I had a little more problem with the wind with the 7.5. I had my shooting partners shaking their heads seeing a $300 surplus shoot as well as the $700 modern bolt guns.

I want to try my ZFK at 1K next. The ZFK's 4X scope well need to changed, SP makes a ZFK mount that excepts Picitinny rings.

You will enjoy the K31. I bought one, then another, and they are great. I took four deer with a K31 this season. My old .30-06 probably wont be out hunting too much anymore, as the K31 is just as accurite, and way more fun to shoot.

I see slings on gunbroker from time to time. Usually pretty expensive, but the original Swiss slings are pretty nice, and the ones I have seen have all been in good condition.

Enjoy your new rifle.

Madcrate where did you find that cheek pad? That is real purty.;) I shoot hand loads in my K-31. It is always fun to pull the old "Swiss Miss" out of truck when shooting iron. Some fellow with a nice .338 Lapua will say, what the Hell is that thing? Now don't get me wrong I like my modern long range rifles. But it is soooo! much fun to swing the steel with the "Swiss Miss".:D

I have a K-31, and along with my 1903A3 these two rifles are amazingly accurate. At 100 yards with open sights and aging eyes, I was really, really surprised at how accurate they can be.

Dumbest thing I've done in the last decade was sell mine....I doubt I'll find one for $99 again....sigh....

They are great rifles!

Durango, maybe this link will work for you. http://czechmauseriti...s new 10-14-2011.htm
Czechmauseritis is who made that cheek rest for madcrate and it is czech whom you'll you need to search for if the link does not work. You'll most likely find him at the SwissRifles.com messageboard forums. You probably won't get one quickly as he usually has a leather work backed up. Best-o-luck

another source for swiss rifle info

The only milsurp that I have a half dozen of. I got 2 for $120 shipped (C&R at the time), and paid that for one nicer walnut model. Great fun, each & every one. The guys on the tags are dying off, so write now if you desire. Some regions speak French, while others are predominantly Deutsch.

Great, great, GREAT rifle. I have it + its larger cousin, the M. 1911 (above):

If you want to get all the info you need from guys who really know their stuff, check out www.swissrifles.com and go to the forums. These people are super knowledgeable (Czechmauseritis is a feature of that forum) and learning from them is a real pleasure.

Oh, and for a sling and any other possible accessory, Ebay is the best place. Search for "swiss," then narrow it to the "militaria" category--or try "k31" directly. If you have any confidence with German, look at Ebay.ch, the Swiss version of Ebay. You'll be surprised what you find!

Thats funny Rubber Duck, I have been dying to add a M-39 to my collection, I do have a Finnish M-27 in excellent condition, but always wanted to get an M-39 at a good price :)
