Thanks for sharing. I have one 100-round box of that stuff at home. I've shot maybe 18 or so rounds of it, I think. I'll check the lot number when I get home tonight.

Now that I think of it, however, any .38+P ammo I have is only shot in my two service-type revolvers, both of which are chambered in .357 Magnum, so I guess, even if I did have some from the affected lot, I'm okay. Just could be in for a surprise at the muzzle if I didn't check 'em first!

Soooooo what you're saying is I can get .357mag for .38spl prices?
(Silver lining, you have been found!)

Now where do I get me somma this?

Well as long as Remington didn't load .357 power charges in .38 cases I'm not real worried.

Yes some cheap Spanish 38s would chamber .357s (overly long chambers) but at least for American makes, I don't think so.

Still, having magnums in .38 boxes isn't a good idea.

Yeah, kinda messed up that my initial reaction to this was "Goody!"

Obvious question: Why do Remington's 38spl boxes accomodate .357magnum? They already make a zillion different ammo box sizes, and it's 1/8" wasted cardboard per box!

Barney, it's because the cost to make the cutting dies and printing plates for two different boxes, plus downtime changing over the box making machinery, plus keeping two different boxes in inventory, is not a good investment. After all, we're only talking a 1/8" difference, and they get to use the same overpack cartons for shipping, too.

Blazer does this too, they use the same box for everything and use a different sized plastic insert.

I'm with 19-3ben on this one :)
I have a .357 so for the price of .38spl I'll take it. Unfortunately I'm sure my local store has already removed the boxes from the shelves, if only I would have heard earlier :(.
