Jeese V on gun control

Thanks for sharing. And god, Piers Morgan is so unbareable. Every second I spend listening to him I get dumber. :banghead:

Piers Morgan ended the interview the second the audience drowned him out and was forced to accept that Jesse made reasonable arguments.

I am pretty annoyed that the "gunfight at the OK Corral" is brought up as an argument though. NO ONE ever counters with "if the bad guy is trying to shoot just you, then he isn't purposely trying to hit as many people as he can as fast as he can". The casualties that might ensue from the gunman are collateral and not his actual intentions. They will be much lower than if we simply left him alone to focus on his primary goal, rather than dodging bullets and trying specifically to kill a challenger. It ends up buying everyone more time to escape.

Also, I wish Jesse Ventura was familiar with the story of the Hession rifle story and how Americans sent guns to the British during WWII because they gave up their arms. That would be a much better example than the Mexican drug war that Piers brushed off. http://www.americanrifleman.org/articles/the-hession-rifles-story/

I find it interesting how Morgan treats Ventura in this video compared to how he treated Larry Pratt.

I really wish Piers Morgan was back across the pond... Way to go Jesse.
Dude, even British people don't want him there. They created a petition on the whitehouse.gov site just to try and stop him from being deported back. Canada already gave us Justin Bieber, haven't we been tortured enough? :p

It do get amusing:

Tom Leonard, "Please don't kick out Piers, we don't want him back! British critics launch counter-petition to make sure he stays in U.S.", Daily Mail UK, 26 Dec 2012.

A web designer based in Birmingham (England) started the "don't kick him out, we don't want him back" petition.

Another petition calls on UK Home Secretary Theresa May to block Piers Morgan from re-entering Britain.

WHAT IF Piers is an NRA plot to make antigun positions unpopular?

Recorded before the CT shooting, also it was a one-on-one interview, not 6 anti-gun vs 2 pro gun like the show I saw with John Lott.

Piers had all the anti gunners on stage, while John Lott and someone else pro gun were in the first row of the audience.

Jeese stayed calm and polite.
That's the way to make the other side shut up. (Or try to.)

OP, thanks for the link.

Lateck,

Jesse did an okay job, but he let himself get drawn into responding to Piers implied attacks. Piers asked why a nut-job should be able to buy lots of ammo, implying that nobody should be able to buy x amount of ammo. Jesse responded and seemed to sway the audience, but he did so without making Piers clearly state what he was suggesting. Nobody argues with Piers' belief that a homicidal nut-job should not be able to amass a large amount of ammo. What does Piers think we should do to prevent that? He got through the interview without having to say.

He suggested a ban is the solution. Had he actually said that, Jesse could have challenged the assumption that a ban would be sufficient. Evidence seems to point otherwise.

Unfortunately far too many people, even on here, probably won't watch this to the end to see the point.

Thanks. I hadn't read that before. Great article. Deserves it's own thread.
