$300 NRA life membership

NRA advised me a few minutes ago that sponsor members have to contact the NRA directly due to some life members posting their membership numbers online.

John
Thanks for the heads-up. Yeah, in retrospect I guess that wasn't the best idea as there is the potential (I guess is their concern) of nefarious activity?

That being said, we are in the beginning stages of the "fight of our life" as I see it so I hope the NRA doesn't wrap us all up in a bunch of "Red Tape."

To protect your gun rights, check out the 2nd Amendment Foundation or Gun Owners of America. NRA-ILA is there to protect the rights of their manufacturing 'partners'. Noth taht this is a bad thing, just be aware of where your money goes.

Keeping laws off the books federally to allow us to buy firearms is not a bad deal for us, either. I'm just willing to let the companies that benefit more than I do from NRA membership to pay for the NRA to lobby in their favor.

I've got a match. Here light it and place your money over it. It's a better use of your cash, for fighting gun control, than a donation to the utterly worthless Gun Owners of America.

Is the $300 life membership still available? I am told you need a current member to vouch. Anyone willing to refer me?

$300 seems like a big chunk of change to pay all at once, but I know it will pay for itself in under 9 years, and right now is as crucial a time as any to join.

I pAid close to $1000 for mine.

Sponsor for Life Membership

I've been real close to signing up as a life member when I get the occasional "$400 check" to bring it down to $600. That's still hard to do considering all th eyears I can do annual dues and save money. However, especially in light of the current events, I am willing to do the $300 life membership if someone can be my sponsor. Any help is appreciated.

I'd be interested in the $300 life membership if any are still available - money's been tight lately, but I figure now would be the best time given the antigunners' new-found courage...

Thanks!

Change in Procedure

Guys,

I just called the NRA trying to help out a prospective new Lifer and they (essentially) indicated that from here on out conference call is required as "too many" new Life Members had signed up @$300. Or the prospective $300 Life Member would have to give his or her CC info to the Sponsor who could then call in alone and take care of it.

They are willing to continue doing so but two parties will now have to be involved at the $300 gift price sponsored level (to the best of my understanding).

*Apparently they have had a TON of $300 Life Members sign up at this 'unprecedented rate of $300.' Honestly the cheapest I had ever heard of prior to this thread was the Christmas time $500 Life Member offer they would annually run. Bottom line is to me it doesn't matter at what level anyone joins, but that as a Second Amendment Supporter you JOIN as it's at this point seemingly obligatory IMO given the tremendous uphill battle we are facing...

I would also like to join at the $300 rate for life if possible. I don't see anything on their website but a $1000 offer.

I've PM'd the last two posters that requested information. Hopefully the information will work. Either way, please report back to us so we all know. I know in the past, it depended on which operator answered the phone as to whether or not they would honor the $300 discount. Hope it works out. I did notice the thread about a yearly membership for $25 and a $25 gift card in return from Bass Pro Shop.

cvoharley,

Thanks for the update. As longknife12 mentioned earlier, we are all giving this our best effort with the utmost best of intentions. As you say, let's see how we progress on from here.

Did you PM me? Because I don't see any new messages

As an aside, Happy New Year Everyone! :D

I signed up for the EPL Distinguished Life Membership. With the disabled veteran it's $375. I went with the 15 quarterly payments of $25 option.

Whether they are effective is probably debatable. Personally, I agree with their platform a LOT more than the NRA's. The NRA seems to be more inclined to just slow the erosion of our 2A rights instead of fighting to take them back to what the Founding Fathers intended. I've heard it argued that the NRA doesn't really want to win the battle with the leftists since that would mean that the NRA would be out of a job. Is it true? I don't know, but when in doubt, "just follow the money" might be a good rule to live by. Yeah, I'm a skeptic -- probably about everything in life. I'm too old to believe *anything* at face value anymore.
