H & R 9 shot

I've been watching these on Gun Broker for a while.
Not sure of actual value but they have been selling from $250 - $400+.

I was lucky enough to run across a 926 in VG condition, needed a couple of minor parts, but I'm very happy with it.



Picked up a .22 Special on Gun Broker, It's functional but could use a little TLC.



I'm hooked, now I have another obsession to drain my wallet.

The H&R revolver was the biggest POS handgun I have ever owned. It broke after < 300 cartridges fired.

I had an H&R Sportsman model 999 several years ago. It was a great gun. H&R was known for building revolvers for the working man, most of them were never worth a whole lot but were pretty good quality revolvers...especially the Sportsman 9 shots. I have seen a few of the Sportsman models in like new condition for around $350-$450 but have seen them go for as low as $200.

Edit: The above poster's experience is NOT the norm with H&R revolvers, IMO.

According to local gunsmith plastic spring to hammer couplings break on those all the time. To add insult to injury those guns oxidize like pail of un-galvinized nails left in the rain. The lowly High Standard Sentinel for just north of $100 is far better bet.

A H&R 949 was the fist handgun my dad bought probably 40 years ago. It has 1000s and 1000s of rounds through it abd is still going strong

Around here they often go for around $130 to $150.

The "Indiana Jones" version goes for 2x more then sodbusters side-opener. I will say the one I had had very accurate barrel it's too bad the rest of it sucked. The barrel quality on those is actually excellent and most will shot amazingly tight groups.

They're hoping landed Hollywood starlet will come through the door and gobble it up.

I have the same model as the OP.

Its a great shooter and accurate as all get out.

Never had ANY problems with it and other than not ever expecting to be able to replace parts - I love it and shoot it often.

It makes me look very good at the range.

Good find and treat it well and it will last another 50 to 100 years.

Jack First might have parts for H&R pistols. His shop buys up the last of everything and they have plenty of used parts.
