Where are there primers for sale?

Woah, $38/k. I've just been using srp's for both small pistol and rifle. I was able to order 7k Tula spp from PV last week. They still have Tula small rifle 223 primers and Tula large pistol primers

I have seen component runs happen every so often for decades. The feds run off at the mouth, shooters freak, price goes up, everyone buys them like the companies are going to stop making them. We are creating the shortage, thus the price increase. Be patient, wait for the panic to end then buy a 50,000 count lot from dealer wanting to impress a power purchaser. Figure your yearly consumption and stockpile at least five years worth. Keeps you out of the impulse runs. If you are buying by the 100 count skip loading and buy range ammo.

Hi Kevin, Ron in the SE Cleveland burbs. I would be curious as to any good sources of supplies around here. While I have a good stock I would like to know which places carry a good line between here and your area in Medina.

Thanks
Ron

I am not personally seeing shortages here in the N. GA mtns but prices eased up about 4.00 per 1k. If anyone in my area has issues getting primers send me a pm. Never hurts to have others in our power buy group. Get a group of local guys, pick one reliable/reputable local shop to deal with & buy like a farm co-op. Get 5 guys to buy 5k or more each then suddenly have a motivated dealer on a +25k primer order. If you do your powder at same time they can get tight on prices.

Oddest price increase I have seen is scrap wheel weights went up from 0.25 to 0.38 cents.per pound. That is felt when shooting lots of large caliber cast bullets. Somebody brought in about 300 lbs of linotype letters bout a year ago to my scrap dealer. Bought to melt but found out some antique vendors like to sell them. Tripled my money selling them & used profit to buy more wheel weights.

It will be interesting to see if the primer powder fellow has any at the January gun show, and what price he has them at.

I picked up 1,000 WSR primers and 1,000 Fed. #100 small pistol primers at the Kittery Trading Post Saturday morning.

They had most powders in stock as well (H335), but only in 1# bottles.

Does anyone that buys from powder valley know if a person puts primers in the cart, check out and pay will they ship first when they are available? They do not say if backorder is ok.

If you live in Northeast Georgia, need primers and are willing to pay stupid prices (39.00 to 44.00 a box, although large rifle match's were what I thought reasonable 48.00) there are plenty at the local gun shops around here. My favorite is closed on Mondays but I hit the others just to see if all this internet buzz applies to my neck of the woods. The only thing I found missing is standard small rifle primers. One local shop had over 30,000 of assorted flavors in stock.

All shops had stock although a few were low. My number two "go to" place only had about 8,000 in stock rather than their normal 25k to 30k. They took pity on me and sold me 5,000 large pistol for 36.00/1,000. I did the decent thing and didn't buy them out although they assured me they had more confirmed "in shipment" including small rifle.

Rather than post the names and have everyone in the world innodate these guys with phone calls wanting to know if they will ship just send me a PM if you are willing to drive to hickville about an hour north of Atlanta. I will check out my favorite local shop when they open in the morning and see what they have in stock. Been ordered to buy all the small rifles I can buy to help some other folk as my personal stock is fine.

Why all the hoarders/scalpers have them all.
Myself, I only have enough for the next 15 years. But---if anyone needs any for $25 per hundred I might let some go.:)

My favorite local shop opened up today, closed Monday, and had a fair stock at a good price. Did the decent thing and left one box for the next guy. Now that I impulse cleaned out two stores need to get busy busting caps. The expensive shop still has plenty.
