Glock 19

I'm a not a gadget guy. My Glock 19 is plain jane, no gadgets to get in the way and nothing to go wrong.

I've run federal, winchester, american eagle FMJ rounds. Also winchester, hornady and remington hollow points. Bullet weights running from 115 to 147 gr and no ammo related problems feeding or functioning. Factory magazines run the best. I have a couple of Triple K steel magazines that had issues causing stovepipes.

I have a Fobus paddle holster and a very affordable Bianchi inside the waistband holster, both of which are more than adequate for my purposes, but then again, I'm a no frills kind of guy.

I think you'll be very pleased with your new Glock.

I like night sights and run Tru Glo TFOs on my G19. I would say your best accessory would be ammunition (if you can find it) and range time. Beyond that, maybe a good holster. If you want one, maybe a light.

I probably am the only person to think this, but night sights really don't offer very much for me. I've got a light on the front of my 19 and 21. When there's light, the silhouette of the sights is very clear, so I don't bother with night sights. But then again, they're not a bad thing to have. And these days, they're only slightly more expensive than non-tritium sights. So if you want 'em, get 'em. I have 10-8 Performance sights on all my Glocks... .156 rear, .100 Fiber Optic front. Best sights I've used, but sights are highly personal, so YMMV.

It's good to go as it is stock. Anything else you want to buy aftermarket is exactly that: A want. My suggestion? Get as many 15 round, 17 round and 33 round magazines and 9mm ammo as you can. Focus on getting at least a few extra 15 round mags and spend lots of money on ammo. AMMO!

My Glock 19 is stock except for XS Sight Systems 24/7 Big Dot Tritium Express Sights. I've been using these sights on my Glock 19 for over 13 years and I've been very satisfied with my performance with them.

I've been using the Milt Sparks Executive's Companion IWB leather holster for all my pistols for about 20 years and I've been very pleased with it. I own four of these holsters for different pistols. (The only problem is a 5-6 month wait time from Milt Sparks.)

I don't own a G19, but that'll be my next buy, if I ever buy another firearm, providing, of course, that I can find a killer deal ftf. However, I do carry a G26 daily and own several other Glocks.

I don't carry a light with me, nor is there a way to attach a light to my G26, so I do use night sights. Also have night sights on my nightstand G17, even though I do have a light attached to it.

I can't stand the feel of nekked plastic in my hands, so I install Agrip on my Glocks, with the one exception being that I installed Wilson tennis racquet grip tape on my G17. I also can't stand the feel of factory Glock trigger connectors; accordingly, I install aftermarket connectors on all my Glocks. I polish all the mating surfaces in the firing mechanisms, using a Dremel on its lowest speed, Simichrome, and a soft polishing pad.

Ammo and range time.

Night sights are kind of a gimmick in my opinion. Try to think of a scenario where they will be truly useful. If you can't see your sights can you readily identify your target? Which brings us to flashlights mounted on guns. Do you really want to point a loaded gun at a family member to identify them when you are jacked up on adrenalin?

Comp Tac is my go to for holsters, the Infidel is quite nice.

I run mine stock, and carry in a raven consealment, love both. I am thinking about new sights but haven't figured out witch ones yet, not so much the "night sight" thing, just something a little easier to pick up in all light. I do like the look of the new trijicons with the orange front.

Sorry, but the stock Glock sights are crap and should be replaced asap. What happens when your Glock bumps into something hard enough to squish the plastic sights? Now your pistol is useless if you can't hit anything. Aftermarket steel sights should be the ONLY upgrade to a Glock IMHO. Everything else just leave alone. No silly red lasers to depend on, trigger jobs, etc. Just replace the sights, buy more magazines and ammo, and go enjoy your new gun!

As for sights, Heinie's Ledge straight-8 is my favorite night sight design. Meprolight makes my favorite 3-dot night sight setup and 10-8 has a great plain serrated rear that works great with a fiber optic or brass bead front.

If you hit your steel sights hard enough to damage plastic ones you will move them in the dovetail. Even though they are plastic they are plenty durable.

For a carry gun I think night sights are a good idea. Meprolight's are good value for the money.

I use a crossbreed super tuck IWB. It's very comfortable and is adjustable.

This is simply not true. Even if the sights are completely gone, the flat plane of the slide can be used successfully as a rudimentary sight. I used to train with sightless guns for the very situation you describe. It's call "instinctive shooting" or "point shooting" and it is an NRA supported method. In fact, at close range as in combat situations, it's been proven to be as effective if not more effective that aimed shooting.
