What would your "buyback" gun or guns be?

Hi,
I have been hearing about a "buyback" program taking place near me in a few weeks. They are offering $100 for handguns and $200 for "assault weapons".

My question is,
Do you have anything that you would give up? Got a tomato stake or two, or a project gun that you'll never find parts for?

For instance, my friend has a tec22 that is a total POS. It jams, doubles, jams again, then poops itself. Every range trip.
He offered it to me for $100. That would be doubling my money if I were to turn it in.

Pictures of your tomato stakes are welcome! Lets have a good laugh at what they would pay $100-$200 for!

Think about the name for a moment. Buy BACK. Why back? The concept of a buyback presupposes that the sovereign essentially owns all arms, and is merely lending them to you for a time. Like the Emperor of Japan lent "his" rifles to his subjects during WW2.

I will never under any circumstances participate in one of these travesties. Particularly since they're used as fodder for the other side. Your POS there would be deemed by the press to be a killer assault weapon of mass destruction.

for $200 for 'assault rifles'....ide go to home depot and buy some pipe, 2x4, and some black spray paint....and make a few 'black rifles'.......shouldnt cost me more than $20 each.....leaving me with a hefty $180 profit.

One man's "killer assault weapon of mass destruction" is another mans POS, and I'm not the kind of person to let someone's handwringing stop me from legally doubling my money, lol.

Seriously. I could JB weld an old UTG front grip onto a handi-rifle,
would that make it an "assault rifle"?
Makes me want to take one of those old breaktop .32's I see every once in a while, and weld another random cylinder onto the side of the one its got,
then call it a "high capacity assault pistol".
Get paid.

I've considered making some non functional "art" that resemble zip guns and taking them to gun buy offs. I'd sell $20 worth of scrap pipe and wood for a $100 gift card or whatever. I spent good money on my guns, every one if them is worth more than a $200 gift card.

Crosman M4-17 air rifles retail for $75, I'd buy a couple of them and profit all day long. Cheap BB gun and a can of spray paint: $25. Turn around for $100.

It only depends on where the gift cards are redeamable. If its Walmart, that would be funny, since that would be where I'd buy the BB guns in the first place.

If the buy back is mandatory then nothing I turn in will be serviceable
Stripped lowers beaten with a hammer
Same with frames, magazines, any other thing required

I have this davis derringer that's probably worth about 35 bucks on the open market. I've often thought that, given at least $100 to get me out of the house, I'd "turn in" this killer piece of ordnance and use the cash plus my slush fund to buy something really obnoxious (think G21 with zombie themed lone wolf parts, AR, another pump shotty with extended mag tube... just *something* exuding testosterone, noise and burnt powder...)

POD Mauser converted to .308. Paid $100 and don't know that I would even try to shoot it.

Hmmm. . . Couple of Jennings paperweights and an Accu-Tek. Throw the Cobra and the Sears .22 in and I'd have enough to buy a nice pistol.

Hmmmm. . . . . . :D

Yes, I have a bunch of cheap, semi-useless firearms.

Send me your location, I'll be standing in the sidelines with some cash. If someones stupid enough to turn in an AR for 200 in this market, I'll gladly offer them $300

How much will the give for a spent LAW tube? I bet those idiots in LA got alot for turning in a "rocket launcher". Jokes on the LAPD, the thing is useless!! :neener:

I only have the one gun as most of you seem to, a single shot .22 with iron sights. I guess I'll haul it down if the buy back is mandatory.

Seriously, in a voluntary buy back, I wouldn't sell a Raven .25 for $1000.00. Numbers give these ridiculous "buy backs" the appearance of validity. I would go and see if I could engage in some non-regulated private sales however.

I could build what appears to be a mortar launcher from scrap metal at work. I wonder if they would give me more for such a dangerous weapon of war.

I've got an old 5-shot DA snubbie in .38S&W that is absolute junk (it was merely nickel-plated junk when new). I'd gladly take a $100 gift card.

LOL! Are you guys serious with this pissing in your panties stuff? I've had it. I'm just going to start mocking all the cowards who are ready to give up your rights.

Buy it from him for $100 and sell it on Gunbroker for $500. :)
