What "gun bug" do you have right now?

I have a perpetual milsurp bug.

But those USPs I rented last month won't get out of my head. When/if things settle down enough that I can find one at a reasonable price, I may have to buy one. Just have to decide which caliber.

I want a rifle for mid-range target shooting. Just a decent rifle in .243, .25-06, or 6.5cm (a few others I'd consider, too) with a decent scope. I had one for a while, a Savage 10 (albeit with a cheapy scope), but sold it for some other things that have helped my shooting skills. Now that my skills are up to par, I'm wanting another good scoped target rifle to push my skills further.

Reloading. -- got a kit for my birthday from family the week before the CT junk so it's hard to start but have been keeping up. I have a few more dies and brass to buy. Have already done 45, 44, and 9. I also have dies to do my 270. I need dies yet in 223, 380, 7.62x54r and 30-30. I want to get into shotgun reloading too. I can't really save money here as I mostly shoot clay for fun but I'm enjoying reloading. It's like a big kid physics set.

Repair -- Been building/fixing and repairing. I have a Glenfield 70 with mag problems, and Mossberg 500 with extraction issue, a Keltec with extraction issues. Plus I'm putting a stock on a Marlin 60 and want to duracoat a badly beaten Winchester Model 12 and a Savage 84c. And I'm building an AR

I am mostly happy now, but there are a few on the shopping list:

Sig P226

9mm AR

a mid caliber bolt action rifle, maybe a Savage 14 in 308

and I think some type of black powder gun

Homebrew. If it's not registered or in a manufacturer FFL's records, it officially "doesn't exist", and the more people who can make their own receivers from billets, raw forgings or when it matures stereolithographic 3d-printing, the more pointless and unenforceable any proposed ban becomes. "POWER TO THE PEOPLE," indeed! :D

A Springfield TRP Operator, since forever.

An AK74 with plum synthetic. I realized the IWD wood on my other 74 is too nice to throw around

A left handed CZ 452 American, since forever.

I have had the same itch for years.

I would like a 6" Diamondback in 22LR with a nickel finish.

My problem is that I simply can't justify the price - so I will probably never scratch it.

I like the early series 70 1911s from Colt and been looking for a nice 4" or 6" S&W Model 27. Saw a nice Colt Series 70 Gold Cup NM at a show today for $1,450 and was real tempted as it was like new. I passed on it but I know the guy will be at the Medina, Ohio show next weekend. Colt Pythons are always on my list also.

Nothing special on my rifle list at the moment.

Ron

A Sig P-229, I already have a P-226 that I am very happy with.

Maybe a .22 pistol to target shoot with if ammo prices don't come back down.

I have that bug:

S&W 9mm Shield. Have been on a wait list since this past July. Was called by my shop and told I have 24 hours to decide or it goes to the next in line. After hours of reflection, checking for holsters, spare mags, looking at my current 9mm collection and knowing that I am in love with my G27 for carry purposes, I talked myself out of it this morning and notified the shop. I am also wrestling with getting into the REM 700 game. Currently deciding on .308 or 30-06. Not sure where that is going. Some days I want to move on it and others could care less. .17 is starting to get intriguing too.

Right now I'm hankering for a Sig Tac Ops and a Colt LE6920.
I probably won't see either, but I can dream.

Dave

Looking towards a ccw gun in the near future. I'm liking the Kahr CM9 or possibly the Bursa Mini Thunder in 45 acp. Then saving for a Savage in 338 Lapua magnum. Probably a five year plan on that one since I'm also doing several home improvement projects.
