Prove that he's a felon before you ask members to pile on. Also, if he's a felon how is he an elected official in VA?

Felony or misdemeanor convictions? That determines whether he can legally have those firearms in his possession.

BUT, far more telling is the fact that he has a history of violence and convictions for them as well as having has his license to practice law suspended and then he was disbarred for lying to the court and violating probation.

If he's a felon he's committed a crime that can be prosecuted at the state level, but if he is a misdemeanant it can't. The fact that he's exactly the sort of person none of us want to have access to a firearm is the angle that could get the greatest effect if we can't show a felony.

For the reasons stated in the accompanying Memorandum Opinion, the Government's Motion to Suspend or Disbar Joseph D. Morrissey from practicing before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia is GRANTED, and it is hereby
36ORDERED that Joseph D. Morrissey be and is disbarred from practicing before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
37The Clerk is directed to strike Joseph D. Morrissey from the roll of attorneys of this court and to forward copies of this Order and accompanying Memorandum Opinion to counsel of record, the Virginia State Bar, and the Clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

I'm more interested in his current parole status with respect to the question of his possession of firearms.
