YGBSM. Heard it from a friend of a friend. Riiiight.

As a current mid-level military officer...this is tinfoilhattery.

Dear Lord!!!

I heard about the West Point report on anti-federalists Monday on Glen Beck's radio show and didn't think too much of it. I'm not surprised that the military has done theorycrafting on a civilian uprising. However; that report coupled with this news is very disturbing.

The what if scenario doesn't bother me at all. There have been times when its been necessary for the military to deal with a large civil unrest problem.

However; when a noted author claims that the President of the US is restructuring the military based on who will say that they will shoot US citizens, these reports become less of a what if scenario when dealing with something like the Watts Riots and more of a "Dear Lord what are they really thinking about doing?".

officers who know about this cannot come forward without endangering themselves and facing possible retaliation from the administration.

They're too cowardly to stand up and do the right thing now peacfully, but they will be brave enough to "fire on Americans"? Righhhhhht! Sure they will, and of course their soldiers will follow those orders without question then, but they dare not question them now?
BS!

I'm sensing a theme from that site:

to be fair, promoting those who share the same views as the civilian leadership to key or cherry positions is hardly something new.

The Examiner is not a newspaper; it's more like an unattributed blog.

The author doesn't cite any source by name, so nothing can be verified.

More right-wing lies and lunacy.

Keep it coming -- the 2016 presidential election is right around the corner, still plenty of time to show America how irrelevant the Republican Party has become...

Hacker, +1

"Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence".

BTW, it has always been a part of US military law and requirements to put down domestic insurrections. Washington, Grant, Lincoln, Eisenhower all did it.

It's in the Constitution;

"Section. 8.The Congress shall have Power To... provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions"

That's a ton of ambiguity.... This one guy who everyone knows, but I can't tell you who, said that he heard from a friend that...... Was this actually published? Would it surprise me if it was true? No, but I'm not going to hoist this literary masterpiece up the flag pole.

Let's say this unnamed source is 100% correct. How could this possibly be implemented? Do you give them a questionnaire? How many applicants for West Point, ROTC, and OCS would be left after you weed out all the ones who think it's wrong to use force against your own citizens? And His influence is limited to His time in office. It's not like he can change the entire officer corp in eight years. He will barely get an oil change on ranks three-stars and above.

Read that the Utah Sheriff's Assoc.....will oblige'em......they are also sworn to uphold and defend the US Constitution.
