I finally got around to contacting WalMart regarding stories about them halting ammo re-orders until a decision is made in legislature.

I started with the store where I frequent, and spoke with the assistant store manager.

I told him, politely, that due to WalMart's discontinuation of ammunition, I would no longer be giving them my business.

He was surprised. He politely put me on hold, and came back later to report that that, indeed, was NOT the story handed down from Corporate.

Walmart has stopped allowing store managers to make ammunition orders, so Corporate can negotiate purchases due to the rush on ammo and lack of availability. They have been getting ammo in, and are going to start limiting ammo so that all their customers have a chance to get some---not out of any government pressure.

I told the gentleman--who was very, very well-spoken--that they have a huge PR problem, since many of us law-abiding, pro 2A citizens--including myself, a single woman who values her right to self-defense and the ability to practice regularly at the range--are now avoiding WalMart due to their perceived new policies.

I've also left a message with Corporate telling them the same.

So...if WalMart realizes they have a huge PR problem on their hands, how do you think they will reach out to the firearm community? Will any campaign to correct the media twisting of their announcement, or simply stating that they will continue to sell firearm ammunition, work in our favor? I think it might.

I suggest, after contacting (again) all your reps, that we all contact the WalMart stores in our area. Tell them what the "word on the street" is about their reported policies. And let's see what happens.

walmart buys most its stuff from china and all of that comes from cosco (China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company, known as COSCO or COSCO Group, is a Chinese shipping and logistics services supplier company. It is a government-owned company of the People's Republic of China)

senator fienstein gave cosco the rights to many of the ports on the us and they also control the panama canal

so walmart has to do what they tell them if they want to keep merchandise on their stores

even if walmart was not anti they have them by the curly hairs

Walmart has been the ONE place where I can rely on some amount of ammunition on a regular basis since all this silliness started.

It is not their fault that what was an adequate order for a month no longer lasts until lunch time the day it's put out.

If you read any of the other two dozen Walmart threads on here, you'll see they clearly, based upon corporate responses to individual emails, value the sportsman's business.

My local walmart told me last night, by fed order of some sort, they now have to "scan" dl's for ammo purchases. Anyone else hear/experiance this? Shelves were bare so I did not get anything there, but I did elswhere today. LGS no such check, bass pro asked to see dl but no "scan".

Zardaia, someone at your Walmart is talking out their rectum, to put it cleanly.

Either that or the assistant manager who sold me 100 rounds of 9mm this morning missed that memo.

My local Walmart has a case full of budget shotguns, but their ammo case was literally down to 2 boxes of .300 Winchester Magnum hunting loads. Everything else was gone.

If it wasn't for all this BS currently going on, I would have bought a new rifle by now. But thanks to this BS, everything I was looking at buying is now 2x-3x the normal price, which I refuse to pay. I've been seriously considering waiting out my local Walmart on hopes that they get in a Colt 6920 or two, just to use as a base to build off of when all this craziness calms down. At least their prices are still where they should be, though I'm sure the guns will sell out within minutes of hitting the shelves.

My Walmart still receives and sells Ammo, however they sell it all before they even have a chance to put it up!:cuss:

I managed to get 500 rounds of 9mm ammo today from walmart. No one checked my ID. I did pay with a debit card. They could figure out I bought ammo if someone wanted to.
