I got my 5th deer so far this year and it was the biggest yet. I killed it at 11:00 on a National Forest. Amazing since 1000s of hunters have been on that place since the season opened. The deer season doesn't close for another 2 weeks.

I had taken a break from quail hunting when this guy showed up.
 
I usually don't wish I lived in Florida (I don't like the heat) but my god I envy your hunting seasons.
 
public land? youre lucky the deer was the only thing shot.... LOL

and yes, it is a nice deer.

Congrats on success. Getting it done on public land does seem to make it a bit more special.

I used to hunt on a great lease in Alabama but it got like shooting fish in a barrel. It's definitely tougher on public land since everyone else is hunting the same buck. I love venison but some years I "go hungry." I was extremely lucky this year.
