Looking for a gun for my wife to carry

I don't know how she plans to carry, but if she can carry a 4" revolver I would look for a used Taurus M82 .38 Special. My wife has that we bought for cheap because it was a security company trade in. Nice rubber grips, hardly any recoil and shoots great. The other nice thing about .38spl is at least locally I can actually find a box or two even though everything is sold out.

First, let her choose. Even if you have some imput. I bought my wife a Beretta 84 and she loves it. Will NOT carry it. I next bought her a Colt Pocketlite. She will carry it now and then. I wasn't crazy about the single action on a carry gun, but she wasn't worried. I let her pick the next one. She decided on a Ruger LCP and loves it. Carries almost all the time and is crazy about the Laser sight. I know, I can hear the comments coming about mouse guns but the new .380s are actually pretty good stoppers and they work a lot better if they are present instead of in a drawer at home. My wife has arthritis and has a hard time with the recoil of a 9mm. Says it hurts her wrists. She shoots a .45 with no problem and says the recoil is different and doesn't hurt. She obviously will not carry a .45. The Beretta goes by the bed, the Colt Pocketlite goes by her reading chair and the LCP is in her purse. Which gun does she love...the one SHE picked. P.S. I have been married 43 years HAPPILY.

LCR in .22 Magnum. Let her learn on this platform, develop accuracy and gain confidence. She will love the light weight and the easy trigger and the lack of recoil. Let her become a complete demon with this gun. At some point she will ask for more power.

Can anyone help me out. My wife just started shooting and i dont want to scare her away from it. She has shot my full frame 9mm, and my glock 40. I want to get her a revolver. Something kind of small that fits her hand better. Something along the lines of a 38. I would like to get as many openions as i can i have never owned a revolver before. THANKS!!

She shoots your semi, but you want to get her a revolver? SERIOUSLY?

Dude you have a lot to learn. My wife bought me a P7 for my birthday, SHE has adopted it, along with my G26. Point is,your wife needs to determine what SHE wants, not what YOU think. SHE needs classes, SHE needs to choose

As the other guys have said, why a revolver.

You never owned a revolver, why? Probably because you don't like shooting them. Who like shooting little J-Frame revolvers? Practically nobody.

While I don't own any polymer pistols, I'd certainly start my search in polymer area with the G19/G17, M&P 9, XD9, Beretta PX4, or SIG 2022, or any of the other fine options within that type of weapon. They are all well made, easy to shoot, inexpensive, and reliable.

When it comes to pistols for your wife, let HER pick it out! Simple as that!
