Cheaper than Dirt...

Great thing is, we are all in charge of how we spend our dollars and freedom of speech is a great thing.

Folks for their own reasons choose to buy or not buy from CTD. I will not buy from them for many of the reasons stated above. I dont have a lot of money to spend, but I do choose to spend it with people and companies I respect. I'm weird like that I suppose

Price gouging is one thing, and IMO, there's nothing explicitly wrong with exploiting the supply/demand system. During a famine, it takes a special kind of person to sell wheat to the wealthy at the same bargain price as during times of plenty. Some call that special kind of person "stupid," and its hard to disagree.

And they also cancelled people's orders they had already made and lied to them about being out of stock. Then, the very next day, the same products were available at 4x the original price.
This, on the other hand, is complete b.s. Depending on how much proof there is to back this claim up, I encourage and support anyone who chooses to boycott CTD indefinitely.

Asshats,my opinion !

I have had too many issues with them as THEY chose to ignore the STATE law and kiss the D.A.'s butt to appease him [ ? ] and not ship to me items I can buy at Wally world or any sporting goods shop !.

And yes I spoke to them at length, and they had NO reason and NO answer as to why.

Now they went and raised their 30 round mags for the AR-15's from 19.99 to 59.99 to 99.99 = WHAT T.Puck!.

Now the newest catalog I just got yesterday has NO PRICES qouted and you have to go online to see DAILY PRICING.

gee you have items in STOCK,but want to rape us so change pricing daily ?.

Not good business and I will take my money anywhere else !.

Repent- to turn from ones ways
CTD- currently still doing these things
Haven't repented yet

OK, we'll rephrase it slightly.

And no one here on this thread has ever said or made bad decisions?

Those who point fingers had better look to themselves first.

I'm not a fan of CTD, never ordered anything from them, but really this is just ridiculous.

Cheaper Than Dirt = Fear-mongering dBags par Excellence :fire:

Just got this email from them:

"During the State of Union Address, President Obama stated he wanted "Massive Ammunition Magazines" banned from Civilians, buy now before he signs an Executive Order Banning them."

What's wrong with that? He could sign a EO at any time right? They gave you a personal hand - out for you to buy $99.99 pmags. You should be honored. And act now before Obama signs a EO to change the constitution.

I would say that I've never made this many bad decisions in a row compounded on top of bad decisions even in the face of public outcry and very bad attention being paid to me. And it's still happening. Yep, I've never acted like this.

That's not a business model I want to support. They can go pound sand!

There are plenty of companies that are not gouging. I will be doing business elsewhere in the future. That's the beauty of capitalism. They can charge whatever they feel is appropriate and I can take my dollars to another store.

So they don't have prices in a quarterly catalog? Is there a company out there in America that is selling .223 or .22 for the same price they were selling it in December? Look at one of the December catalogs and call to request 5 bricks of .22 at $18 which was a going rate in November/December. I know because I bought a bunch from Grafs. Okay so they don't have any at that price, or any other price so why put a price on something you don't have in stock, don't know what it will cost when you get it in and don't even know if you will get ANY in. Heaven forbid they put a high price because then they would be gouging.

Geez people please quit griping about the different warehouses. Every item you look at on their website clearly says what warehouse it is in. If you can't get together an order and have it all come from one location then guess what? They have to pack it in two different warehouses and pay two seperate shippers to pick it up. It's not like they hide the warehouse and then say "Surprise" when they ding your card. I don't know why they do this but every time I have ordered from them in the past I just made sure all my items were from Warehouse "A" and I only paid one reasonable shipping charge. They also clearly show the shipping charges and you can add something and update your cart to see what your total with shipping will be. Is it comparable to other online sellers? Can't answer that but I know I have purchased ammo and parts from them in the past and I always felt okay about my experience. I don't go online and order a $12 part and then gripe because shipping was $14. I order as much as I need or can afford and that usually makes it relatively affordable

I bet most people griping would tear the door down if CTD advertised .22 bricks for $22 or .223 for $250 per 1000 rounds. "I hate you guys" but ship me that ammo.

Well yes... if their prices (delivered) were actually "Cheaper than the Competition", then folks wouldn't be so hard on them.

That's the whole problem with their warehouse system. I don't care how many warehouses they have, but I do care when their distribution of inventory across those warehouses increases my shipping charges to the point that they end up being more expensive than the competition.

Wallmart has no idea what they are being sent from the warehouse until they unpack the box, "referring to ammo and guns", this from my local Wallmart sales people, "who have been in the gun and fishing area for at least 2-3 yrs now. they told us that if we come in at 8 PM, we can get the latest truckload of goodies when they unpack it to lay it out for the morning rush.
Sure enough I took a ride back at 8:30 PM and got 45 and 00 buck, the 223 was on the previous days truck, but none on this load.
They have been consistant with their story, they really don't know what's in the boxes until they unload them.
The best way to do it is to stop by at various times during the week, "or day" if you have time, and check, if you miss it by 15 minutes , "it's gone". They get cleaned out that fast.
They don't get that much, so 4 or 5guys can take 15 or 20 boxes in a few minutes and it's done. I have been able to get all but 40 cal there. My LGS seems to have 40 in stock whenever I need it at under $25 per box. I don't know if they save it for guys who are shooting, or it's for anyone.
Whenever I shoot there I buy ammo for at least one caliber anyway, they are very fair, and charge 10 bucks, and half the time give you targets for free, plus eyes and ears if you need them for a friend.
I figure the least I can do is buy ammo there, as they don't care how long you stay, as long as you don't shoot off the clip that holds the target on the wire. LOL. That they get angry about.
A few times I went in just to test a trigger I put in and they didn't even charge me for firing a few mags. Good guys, but forget about transfers, $100.00 per gun. If they don't sell it, they don't ship it.
I can live with that I just use someone else for that if it becomes necessary.

+1; my fav LGS hasn't gouged since this all started. I give them all my business now.

Gym, at my local walmart I sometimes look at the sporting goods lady paperwork with her to see what she is getting in on her next truck as far as ammo goes. Either yours is different or they are jerking your leg.

The last time I visited CTD's website a few days ago, their prices on what they have in stock are at least doubled since the last time I ordered from them 2 months ago. I accuse them of gouging and will never deal with them again.
