Over 9-pages of Magpul talk at arfcom when it was revealed that Magpul will continue to sell hi-caps to BAN STATE .gov's.

Maybe they needed to raise cash for moving vans to leave CO?

Or buy CO properties to build grow-houses for the weed, man...

Way to support the 2A there Magpul...

In a related note, Gwovenor Cwoumo had the NY law adjusted to exempt Hollyweird productions inside NY from the AWB and mag bans. Can't irritate the money men, can they?

I never liked Magpul anyway. Always seemed to me like most of their products solve problems that don't exist. Give me an AFG and a few Pmags; any other Magpul product on my AR is a detriment, not a selling point. Even the AFG and pmags are more niceties than necessities. Nothing wrong with any GI mag I ever used in the military that couldn't be fixed with a new follower or spring.
 
I'll cut 'em some slack. It's not like law enforcement orders are a highly significant part of their balance sheet. And I agree with their sentiments about not punishing them for the actions of others.
 
Why all the hate for Magpul suddenly? Why not Glock, S&W, Ruger, etc.
Let's focus on the companies who are working with us and not snipe at one of our own. Magpul has their own battle with the anti's in CO. Support the companies on the nice list;

+1 to that JoeSchmoe. Being on the low side of potentially deadly threat response, I can tell you first hand that not having the right equipment can mess up your day.
 
They are working on giving Coloradans a good deal on mags before they leave, as well as the other states trying to enact a ban on normal capacity magazines.
 
Magpul tried to bluff CO. ban and it didn't work, they now realize that there will be at least two things coming out of all the bans, one will be the UBC and a ban on manufacturing and import of 30 round mags except for LE, so why spend all that money moving when it will be national, they can't even move out of the country because there will be no import.
There will be no real supplier or manufacture protest of selling to any state LE because of political stance it will be because of inventory control, they will not want a special stock for them and us because it is not cost effective.
But it makes them look good to the gun community looking like they took a stand when in fact they are not.
The only stand that will be taken is with our folks in DC period.

Exactly!

Seems that more than few here have a very short memory. Several members and a couple moderators said that my previous comment in the other MagPul thread, which as conviently closed, was "absurd". Magpul made a grand statement that they would leave CO if the ban was passed...which it did...and then promptly reneged on that promise.

That, my friends, is the absurdity in all of this.

When did they reneg? The bill hasn't been put into law yet and they haven't said they will be staying in CO.

Until the governor signs it, it's not law.

I think this entire argument is premature.

With regard to "they still sell to repressive states," MagPul never said they wouldn't. They told the Colorado legislature that they would leave if this legislation passed in CO. Everything I've seen says they'll follow through on this threat, which means that CO's elected officials are faced with real, quantifiable consequences should they pass feel-good legislation.

This is a good thing. Even if they still let the NYPD purchase magazines.
 
It is also worth pointing out that many police agencies in ban states are county sheriffs' offices that have openly said THEY will not enforce an unconstitutional law. Yes, they're .govs in a ban state, but if they still support and defend the Constitution, shouldn't we still support and defend them? This is going to get way more complicated than simple geography.

Did I miss something? My understanding was that the Colorado bills had not yet passed the state Senate, much less the governor's desk, and that Magpull's threatened pull out was intended against specifically this. If it hasn't happened, they aren't reneging.
 
Talk is cheap. They said they were supporters and then they caved on thier own stance and statements. Then there were so many supporters of them in this forum and now the cavers have cavers. This really shows how strong some supporters support. There are so many liberals that think they are conservatives but when the real fighting starts the white flags begin to show.

And how does political affiliation play into whether Colorado has passed these laws or not?
 
While I would love to see them follow the 100+ others in not exempting Law Enforcement from state laws, I understand their primary focus is in Colorado. While it DOES seem like there's a POSSIBILITY they are trying to play both sides, I'll reserve final judgement until the Colorado law has run its course.

It's not like I could buy any of their products right now if I wanted to. They're all sold out.
