Walther PPQ, Walther PPX, Glock 26, one has to go...

I've found myself having to deal with a situation that I am sure is familiar to a lot of handgun owners, which all handgun owners would wish to avoid. I am the proud owner of 3 handguns, a Walther PPQ, Walther PPX and Glock 26 all in 9mm and one of them needs to go, my lovely wife has laid down the law. I am fairly new to shooting but have bought and sold and traded my way through quite a few guns and eventually gravitated to these three. I feel that they are the best handguns for me and fill my needs which consist of something for 24/7 personal protection and home protection, as well as weekend shooting fun/practicing.
Glock 26- my carry weapon. I shoot it and conceal it well, was someday thinking of trading it for a PPS but for now it is a great ccw and I enjoy practicing with it.
Walther PPX-Has recently been made my bedstand gun, I love the trigger on this gun and surprisingly shoot it better than my PPQ, I feel I am at my best shooting this gun.
Walther PPQ- In my limited estimation the best handgun money can buy. Fits my hand great, I like to shoot it, great trigger, great size, took me forever to track down and acquire. Unfortunately fills no real niche (as far as my niches go). It is the only one of the three that sits unloaded on the top shelf in my closet. Only sees daylight on an occasional weekend. I do carry it concealed occasionally and have a nice holster for it, however I do live in Arizona and t shirt/shorts are common. PPQ would probably be left at home more often than carried all day every day.
Sorry for the long OP but I need some help and opinions. Which gun would you sell and why?
 
If you really have to get rid of one, I would dump the PPQ. The other two serve the purposes that you require better (according to how you feel/perform with them).

Your G26 will serve the carry role much better than the PPQ, and is already your main carry gun so there is no reason to change that. The PPX will serve for HD and for teaching new shooters and you really enjoy shooting it and you shoot it well, so if it ain't broke, don't fix it (so it stays) :)

You have the least need for the PPQ, and it really does nothing for you that your PPX doesn't (except gather dust) so if you do have to get rid of the gun, this is the only one that makes sense.

I think I might have painted too subjective a situation to allow some good answers. Let's just say if you had these three guns and had to get rid of one which would it be and why? Which guns would you use for which niche/situation?

I suppose another option of the wife having to go is, well, you know, probably, I guess, out of the question?

Yeah, she let you get 3, so she is a keeper.:)

Out with PPQ.

Well, it came across slightly disrespectful to your situation, and I don't like it when I see others do that so I felt pretty hypocritical and unhelpful. IMO, family is more important than me having a bunch of guns, so keeping the wife happy is the number 1 priority and I understand that. Heck, at least you still have 2 guns! :)
 
Safe queens with no sentimental value would be the first to go if I had to face the choice you do. In your case that's the PPQ, and you've made a good case in your OP on why it should be the one to go.
 
Thanks for the replies, the Glock found a new home. I guess Ill have to get used to carrying a bigger gun. The situation could be worse right? :)

Glocks are almost a dime a dozen in my mind, I can pick up another almost whenever I want (its true, I'm already scheming how to get another). I'd rather have to make due with carrying a PPQ (not a terrible proposition) than get rid of my "grail" gun.

That makes sense. It's certainly possible to carry a full size in CO year round with the right holster and dress.
 
I think you made a good decision. The Walther's are GREAT pistols and are more similar to each other than keeping one Glock and one Walther. Enjoy.

Yes.... and the OP has already made his decision...The Glock was sold and here is the reasoning.

glad you kept the PPQ

I carry a PPQ off duty and I absolutely love it. True, it is bigger but the many features they pack into this pistol make it worth the extra few ounces. IMHO I think when 'ol Gaston handed the business over to his kids.....GLOCK suffered and lost market share...including the department I work for. We went to S&W M&P's after it was apparent they just couldn't work out the magazine difficulties we were experiencing.
