could just mean he isn't going to run for reelection. Presidential primary race will start soon after his term ends.

Over a hundred people agree!! That's enough registered voters to get you elected mayor in some towns.

Hopefully, this guy won't even make dogcatcher in the next election.

I hope every freedom loving person in Colorado makes him eat those words in the next election.

He needs to get unelected.

Just my .02,
LeonCarr

He's wrong. He's wrong in thinking the protestors are a vast minority and he's wrong in thinking they don't represent a substantial portion of Republicans. Wait till 600 Magpul ex-employees join the campaign against him.

He's not going to come out and say, "Yeah, signing these laws will probably get me voted out but I'm going to do this."

He's not going to come out and say, "Look, we are under a lot of pressure from Mayor Bloomberg and the White House to pass these laws. They are going to give us the support we need to keep our elected offices and we are in this with them to the end."

He's not going to come out with the truth. He's going to tell you the sky is orange, and to his dying day he will not speak differently.

Every politician understands the risk of their decisions on their reelection chances.
Whether they think the public will support them is the question.

I think what he was saying, without actually saying it was; "I will receive so much money and other support from the national level, I will have the resources to beat back any attack the NRA and gun owners can make. I don't believe they will represent a serious threat."

I am sure there were many Democrat senators and representatives that voted for the first AWB who thought the same thing in 1994. History may repeat its self. :uhoh:

We will see in 2014...

Just how many of these elected legislators retain their seats. None of them ran on a gun control platform, many of them will have to now. I do not know if we will be able to undo the mischief they are currently up to. Our dear leader Chickenpooper is a rising star in the democratic party and is probably slated for higher positions, think cabinet. So, in that sense, his signing the raft of freedom crushing, feel good, do nothing laws will not affect his Colorado political future. His political future does not include Colorado.

I feel very sorry for the real Coloradans. They have to find some way of stopping hippies at the border. Same goes for New Hampshire which used to be a pro-gun state before Bostonians started moving there to escape high taxes, but they brought OTHER political values with them. Rural Colorado is really going to have to organize against the Denver/Boulder Marxists!

Colorado is a risky state to be in for a rabid "anti". I know a LOT of people live on the eastern slope, but most of the western slope is not only outdoors and hunting oriented, but most are fiercely independent, and damn hostile when someone infringes on their gun rights. AND, many, if not the majority of eastern slopers, are also hunters, shooters, and pro 2nd, so that governor might be risking it all.

If he's right, and there are no political repercussions to this stuff, then we are done.

He does not propose legislation, he merely signs off; that means there are a LOT of elected officials who may to continue their state-funded employment

VOTE THEM OUT IN 2014

From NRAILA: "Even though tens of thousands of pro-gun supporters have voiced their opposition to these measures through public testimony, calls, e-mails and rallies, Governor John Hickenlooper seems to think that your voice is in the minority. When asked about the outpouring number of individuals who have been showing up in Denver to oppose these anti-gun bills, Hickenlooper said, "Not only do they not represent the middle, I don't think they represent the Republican party. I don't think they represent a large number of people.”

How about sending the Gov a note saying those opposing the bills represent you?

If he gets enough letters, maybe he'll change his mind.

Yes, if you are a Colorado citizen, PLEASE go to this link and let him know what you think of what he said, what you think of the legislation, and that you are not in the minority...

Between the massive amount of Bloomberg cash that will be spent, and the amnesia the passage of time brings to the American Voter, Hickenlooper will be re elected. The Dems know the NRA voting block must be broken and demonstrably so, or future control laws will be dead on arrival. They will do this by seeing to it the high profile supporters of this agenda are returned to office.

Legalized pot, outlawed trapping, no bear baiting or hound hunting. Colorado has been on the slippery slope for quite a while. I would like to believe we might have hit the tipping point with this gun business but I am doubtful of it.
The libs are taking over the west one county at a time starting with the bigger metro areas. Take a look at any state and you will see the influence begin in the population centers.

It is truly scary to see the divide when you look at large city politics and mentality vs rural cities. Two very different ways of life trying to impose there laws (or lack thereof) for the entire state.

Luckily for my state the overwhelming majority is of one faith and it is very conservative so I believe it is somewhat uninviting for libs. That said Salt Lake City is still quite liberal, so again there is a large divide.

All he has to do is use some posts in an advertising campaign

Unfortunately far too many 2A proponents are their own worst enemy when it comes to promoting the cause. Take the time to read the posts after any news article that talks of taking 2A rights away and you will see what I am talking about. Unfortunately the posts most read have absolutely no reflection on the real "responsible gun owner" for if they do, then we are SOL.

About the only hope you guys have is for a court to rule that the law violates the Colorado state constitution's right to keep and bear arms. You have a pretty strong state constitution as far as gun rights. Hopefully it comes in handy.

This is very true, they often start on how bad gun laws are, and wind around to abortion or gay marriage or legal pot... and just look like hypocrites that only support the freedoms THEY like. Kinda makes them no better than the anti-gunners.

That was one of the strength of the KKK. They thought they were untouchable as they hid under the hoods.

Our constitution is almost worthless. It can be changed by a simple majority of the electorate.

Hickenlooper, Kefalas and Ginal have just gaind one voter who will work overtime at the next election to get the word out that they are not worthy of reelection.

I used to speak up for Kefalas, as I know his family but the guy is hopeless. I emailed him on another issue and he is just plain clueless.

He might not come out smelling like a rose but he's going to be tough to beat.

Some people in the senate and house are going to get trounced.
