Not sure if this is the right section or not, but it's my best guess.

Dropped a gun off at a local gunsmith a bit ago. There were a couple other customers hanging around looking at guns.

After verbally giving him my address and contact info I was talking to the gunsmith about different lubes and what I thought about a new one I tried on a few of my other guns. He then went on to say that he wouldn't have my gun finished until X day to which I responded "no worries, I have to work XX days so I won't be able to get it until X day".

As I pull out the driveway it hits me: I just told the other customers about several of my guns, where I live, and when I won't be home. :what: :banghead:

Gonna have to borrow a couple of my buddies big dogs when I go to work.
 
Well yes..you obviously did not graduate top of the class in crime prevention school..lol. Now on the days you have invited the crooks over to rape and pillage follow the advice recently offered on FB. Leave a hand written note on the front porch which says something similar to this:

Hey Billy Bob..me and Goober just ran to get more beer and shotguns shells. There is shine in the fridge and just dont step in the Pit Bull poop..etc.. You get the pic. Should be anchored down by a pair of muddy Wing Tip Brogans. No right minded alleged perp who would go in there. Loose lips sink ships.
 
Haha thanks. I am usually very careful about what I say but for whatever reason my mouth was faster than my brain this time.

All those shiny guns on the wall and talking to somebody whose eyes don't glaze over when I start talking about guns must have not left enough brain power for the common sense part of my brain.
 
Wait... you actually think somebody actually paid attention to what you were saying to somebody else? They'd have to be a thief in top form to do it. Of course, I am just comparing them to myself. I don't bother listening to other people even when they're talking directly to me...:D

They were all standing about 5 feet away and looking at me and my benelli.
 
I watched an episode of "The Best Defense" on hotel safety prior to leaving for a 2 week trip to Wisconsin recently. I always get something from those shows (Thanks M. Bane!!)

While at the airport in Madison waiting for my airport shuttle the women next to me got on her cell phone, and proceeded to tell everyone in ear shot her name, phone number, when she was leaving and what hotel she was staying at.

I ended up seeing her as many people who travel to Madison are going for the same reason I did, but I did not want to "creep her out" by saying anything but she should be more careful.
