Ridiculously accurate... Ridiculously good trigger... Ridiculously slim grip...

Seriously, for this type of pistol its accuracy is above par. The striker-fired trigger is better than most. And for a double stack .45 acp its about as slim as a 1911.

I know some here own one and have already shot them but I just recently had a chance to test the one previously sent to me, it took awhile for the test ammo to arrive because of the ammo shortages. As the ones who already own a SR45 know it's a fine shooting pistol and I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of enough ammo to do a fair test. With four different brands on hand it was to the range.

I was not expecting as good of a group from this pistol, but it was a pleasant surprise and the Federal was not the most accurate. At close range the Ruger was delivering touching clusters. And banging steel was a blast with the big .45. During rapid fire the SR45 absorbed the recoil while the slim profile grip provided a secure hold. I'm still astonished that this is a double-stacked pistol. Ruger sure did a fine job with this big bore.

Interesting review!

Would it be possible that you could post a comparison picture of the SR45 grip size vs. 1911 grip size?

Don't have a pic right now but I just measured the SR45 and my Ruger SR1911 at the middle of each grip. SR45: 1.7656" dia. / SR1911: 1.6875" dia. So 0.0781" (or 5/64") dia. diff. between the two, not much for a double stack .45.

Yep, my wife had the same experience with a friend's SR9 so she bought herself one. Then she bought an SR9c and and SR40. The only reason she doesn't own an SR45 is because she hasn't come across one yet at any of our LGSs.

My P345 was very accurate, stands to reason the SR45 would be too...

The P345 was actually cramped in my hands, with too short of reach, but a tackdriver it was. Will have to check out the new Ruger 45:)

You can't argue that the gun and the shooter arent dead nuts on when you put up a target like that!

Thanks for the report. Looks like a winner. Wonder why those crazy people want to make it not shoot without a magazine in it? That could get a person killed while trying to stick a fresh magazine in there.

If it shoots like mine she's gonna be pleased.

If any gun manufacturer wants to sell their pistols in California, they must now have magazine disconnect safety, loaded chamber indicator visible from both sides of the pistol and be drop tested.

I have been looking forward to the SR45.

Thanks for the range report!

I have the SR40 compact, couldn't be happier. I'd love to take a look at that SR45 but I know whats going to happen if I do...I'll be about $500 poorer!

That probably wouldn't be a bad thing. SR40c for personal carry and the big bore SR45 for home defense. Good combo. Poor but gun rich...

The SR45 and the SIG P227 Carry SAS are my next guns on the list to get.
Always wished that Ruger would make a double stack P90. But, this SR45 will do.

Thanks for the report! (It was gonna be my next gun anyway, but thanks for the affirmation!! :) )
