shipping ammo to CT

I emailed AmmoToGo.com about it and this was their reply on Thursday:

As of right now all that we have been told is that we cannot ship Magazines with a capacity above 10 rounds.

Not a legal opinion for certain, but they have a business to protect.

I think the ammo "safety" measures kick in on 7-1

Unless CT has their own "system", an FFL can't do a background check for an ammo sale. NICS is for firearms only.

Here's everything. 10-1-2013 for ammo.

They followed the typical progressive method - pass laws first, ask questions later. Nobody knows how it's going to work.

We are in the same boat here in NY. NY just budgeted $27 million to build their own system by 1/15/14. I dont want to wish my life away, but I'm 12 years from retirement and I cant wait to leave NY. I will then spend my winters in FL and the rest of the year in NH!

Yes. Let's punish individuals who support the RKBA by not selling to them because they live in a state with crappy gun laws.

Just a thought. I haven't read the bill, but that FAQ says you need a license to buy ammo, not sell it. Since I'm not in the buisness of selling ammo, I don't have an FFL and I don't live in CT I don't see how that law is my problem. Or yours

The buyer could go to the trouble to comply (or not as morality dictates) but it's certainly not our job to help CT enforce it's asinine new law.
