Anyone got one? Talk me into it. LGS called. I have a week to choose whether i want it or not. They would prefer sooner than later of course. But here is the deal, I will get it for GSSF prices, which I think is $489. It will have to go on a credit card which I had just recently paid off, yet just put the balance of a brand new Ruger Mark III on. I am just torn. The good thing is I suspect I would have no problem getting my money out of it should I decide to get rid of it. I should mention that it is a very high interest card. Any thoughts?

How much is owed on the Ruger and how quickly can you get the money?

I'd rather not be living on credit, myself.

Yeah, I hate owing money as well. I still owe about $240 on the Ruger. I plan on moving a few things on Craigslist and such to try and pay it all down a bit quicker too but that is what I always say. And never do.

I just know how difficult it seems to be to find Gen 4 G20's right now and I have seen how much they generally are going for now, so it makes this seem far more an urgent purchase than it probably really is.

If you can't pay cash for the gun, how can you afford to feed it? 10mm ain't cheap.

Buying non-essentials on credit is unwise. The only things I take out a loan for these days - and that's what a credit card is, a loan - are emergencies (if I had to), houses, and cars. And I'm not happy about the car loan.

You guys aren't doing a very good job of talking me into this!

I wouldn't be planning on shooting it a bunch initially but would eventually gear up for reloading it. Still not cheap but cheaper anyway.

Sadly, it looks as though I am not going to have a new 10mm in my near future. Unless lack of brains takes over tomorrow when I go to talk to the LGS.

One thing I forgot to mention, even though it doesn't matter a whole lot, is that my GSSF coupon expires in May. Maybe I will find excess money before then.

Since I bought one I no longer look at other handguns. Given your financial situation I would not buy one at this time. While these do not sell like Glocks in 9x19, .40S&W or .45Auto enough are bought for the company to keep making them.

I'd wait until you have the cash.

If nothing else 20's are readily available on Gunbroker.

Well, I have succumbed to the peer pressure and let them know they can pass it on to the next guy in line for one. I told them I couldn't afford it at this time. Then I started wondering what they would think if I flopped down the plastic to purchase the Ruger SR1911 Commander they had for $195 less than my usual LGS. I really need to stay away from gun stores.

Thanks for all the good advice. Says a lot that not one single person recommended buying it.
