If it was purchased as a new receiver (new, complete receivers are not rifles, but rather "firearm" as described by law) and registered at purchase as "receiver/other" (which is why you are required to be at least 21 to purchase), it can be built into a pistol. Building with a stock that makes it useable from the shoulder with a pistol upper makes it an SBR. I'd ditch the stock it may have had on it, but it is perfectly legal, as the upper it is built with in concert with the lower designates a rifle (16" bbl minimum, with an overall minimum length of 26", and be designed to fire from the shoulder), or a pistol accordingly with its definition in mind. As stated, best to not have a lonely stock just laying around.Erik do you have that registered as a SBR?
As far as I know S&W never made any ar15 pistols (but perhaps I am wrong), and just taking the stock off the buffer tube doesn't count.
I'm sorry if you already know this, but I thought i should point it out.
Mine said "detected threat"!!!My virus software would not let me follow the link to crazy joes.
Does he have an online store? He's in Arizona city between Tucson as and Phoenix Az. I can give his contact number if interested
Yep, I was sure to get good pics of it stripped as delivered from Bud's. $136 felt high for a lower, was over their lay-away level at the time. Now, aside from 'blemished' Aero Precisions, that's a great price. Funny how that works.Thank you, I didn't know they did. I've seen uppers on their website, but i didn't know they sold stripped lowers.
Guess I learn something new every day!
