SUMIKITO - It has got quite a bit of use as of late. Things being as they are.

I have always taken good care of it, but on close examination, I would say it is in "good" condition. It has seen a good deal of field use.

I was living in the Cascades of WA back when I first got married. I had a temp summer job with the Forest Service fighting fire. I worked part time grooming snowmobile trails in the winter. I always kept my ROA with me when I was out grooming, (being it was the only firearm I owned and could afford to shoot at the time). I would encounter a fair number of Snowshoe Hares on those isolated snowy trails, and I would always take the time to harvest a couple for the pot back home, (my wife made a most excellent rabbit stew). We were struggling financially, so a little meat in the pot meant a lot.

I always carried with full power loads (40 gr 3f under a roundball). Where there are rabbits there are cougars, and even though they gave the Thiokol a wide berth, sightings were not unusual and if the machine broke down, it meant many miles of x-country skiing back to the truck.

Good memories attached to a revolver that never let me down. I will never sell it. It will go to my son as artifact of the family history.
 
Brand new here so take 'er easy on me! I'd like to post an albeit ratty picture of my ROA but, need just a tad of tutoring. I've got the picture on my PC so, where do I go from here?

Karl, at the bottom of the reply window click "go advanced" and at the top of the new reply window find the paper clip icon, click it and browse for your photo file, click upload and then input any text and hit submit reply... Voila'! :D

DMZ: That's so nice to hear how that Old Army has served you so well. Your son will, I am certain, be very attached to that revolver too and am certain will pass it on to your grandchildren to cherish on. All the very best to you and your son, best regards. :)

Just a hello from a new member. Been shooting black powder arms for over 40 years. NRA life member. Have 2 ROA's presently and have owned probably half dozen or so since they came out. Look forward to picking up some tips and maybe adding a thing or 2 to the forum myself. white smoke
 
I have a Bicentennial model I bought off a guy in '79. I've shot the heck out of it but has been a few yrs since I've shot it. I'll get a pic and post when I get back home.

Shot that target with the blue revolver at 15 yards off hand. Just 25 gr of 3f with thick card over powder and. Wonder wad. First time out with that one. Thanks
 
I just checked to make sure he was still at it and yes, a man whose Gunbroker username is bigmtnman has sold me several stag grips and he does wonderful work. I notice he has a pair on his listings that would likely work for the ROA.
 
Most appreciative of the responses to the request for Stag grips, thanks! I'm looking into all of the leads. A question though..."bigmtnman" on Gunbroker....I'm having trouble finding him there. Tips on the search...? Thanks!

Karl, I just key word stag grips on gunbroker. Had to check out a few listings to find him. He has a nice set for the ROA (listed for new model Blackhawk) that are tempting me.
 
Karl, that particular listing is 337344190 hope this helps. I've never had to return anything to him but he has a no risk return policy.
