A request message from Brad - Missouri Bullet Company

I've never ordered from MB, but I think his comment was completely fine. He may be a complete jerk, I have no idea, but i read his comment and all he is saying is business is good, too good, please be patient with me. Since when have guys who shoot guns gotten so thin skinned.

I work for a small company, seasonally, we get swamped. Hiring another person isn't logical, we'd just have to lay him off later in the year. Plus "just hiring someone to answer the phone", is going to raise the cost of bullets. What would that phone person tell you that you can't read off of his FAQ page?

Do you guys call Federal, Speer, etc.. and complain because the ammo isn't making it to the shelf fast enough? These are different times folks.

Just my opinions though. Everyone conduct yourselves as you wish.

You said it before I could! Brad subscribes to a lean business system. Hiring another person who isnt casting, sizing, or boxing bullets would simply raise cost. He and his wife work hard. Harder than people should, lol. Definately the hardest working retired man I know.

If you read their facebook entries of daily activities, you won't find Brad just sitting around telling people what to do but gets his hands dirty. They do put in some long and hard work days!

Its not unusual for me to message him and find that he is casting or sizing on a sunday evening, just him and Joanne out in the shop. They are dedicated for sure.

I respect him. I saw his video of his operation and I read the article that was written about his business. Total respect! I will order from him in the future just on general principle. He started from nothing and made a small business thrive.

Just ordered my next 4k from them. When they arrive, they arrive. Brad has always delivered and I can't think of a better place to spend some money.

I'm seriously looking at switching from plated bullets to MBC for the cost savings but I am agonizing over the switch/addition of powders I would need as not all are compatible with lead load data.

If I do go to lead, it will be MBC all the way!

Not to derail the thread, but I will recap my PM to bds for the benefit of the forum:

I use Bullseye, Unique, AA#9 and 2400 for my pistol loads (10mm, .45 ACP, 9mm, 9x18 Makarov and .40 S&W,). The 2400 doesn't really count for the purposes of this discussion as it is only used for jacketed .44 Mag.

AA#9 in particular is not listed in any of my three load books for lead and I just bought an 8# jug of it quite recently. The data for AA#9 is available on AA's website and that is likely what I will use once my copious supply of plated bullets is exhausted.

To keep this thread on topic, from all I can tell, MBC is a great company that I would be thrilled to do business with. Their expansion looks promising and I am looking forward to it!

All of those powders are compatible with lead. In fact, when it comes to 2400 it is probably the BEST magnum powder for lead. I have loaded a metric butt-load of lead in 357 mag and 45 colt with 2400. Unique, BE the same.

Their 180gr TC has shown great results for me in 40 S&W. They have quite a bit of my load data on their website too. When I get something new worked up I usually email it to Brad for their website.

I have the AA guide already downloaded. My, this is progressing quickly! The 2400 powder will not be used for lead as it is exclusively loaded behind FMJ or JHP .44 Mag bullets (or in .30 Carbine but that's not relevant here). I do this because I have a Desert Eagle and Anaconda, both in .44 and I don't trust plated bullets at the velocites the DE prefers.

I saw that! I have been toying with the idea of lead since my boss mentioned it a few weeks ago. Aftering reading through this thread, I went and checked out the entire MBC website! I ended up with about $500 worth of bullets in my shopping cart after the THR discount was applied. As tempting as it is to place the order, I have to use up all of my Rainier's first and save like there's no tomorrow in the meantime.

I don't see why some folks have such thin skin. This guy and gal seem like straight shooters if you ask me. They're telling you point blank what they're doing to make their operation as streamlined as possible and asking the customers to cooperate in making that happen for everyone involved. I'd love to order from them once they restock what I need. They seem like good folks, even if some folks thought the tone was gruff, to me it just didn't beat around the bush.

Off-topic: Does someone have a link to the plant tour video that was mentioned earlier? I tried finding these guys on youtube but only found table top reviews by other users. I'd love to see their operation!

As to the ton skin comments. I haven't seen the first post that shows that.

I found some unlabeled powder in my cabinet....how much should I use to load the 45 round?....maybe I should call him?

In all seriousness....MBC is top notch and as is everyone else they are swamped....it's the people that have gotten into the hobby recently that I'm sure are causing the majority of the problems for them....As many of you here also do, I keep a 6-8 month supply of everything....that way you never run out....
