The new Colt LE6900 M-4 Light Carbine is an interesting animal (one that is getting a bunch of hate on line). 0.95 lb lighter than the 6920 M-4 with a .750" barrel (not a light contour), no forward assist, no dust cover, fixed trigger guard, and a very light 6-position stick (weighs 6.2 oz). I'm not sure where the rest of the 0.95 lb comes from. It has a really nice single stage match trigger. Combo flash suppressor/brake, 1/8" twist.
It has a 9.5"x2" round AL FF hand guard that is drilled and tapped for 4 short rails with 60mm between holes. It come with one 3.2" long 5-slot rail that is about 0.220" high putting it at flat top rail height.
Does anyone know where to get more hand guard rail sections for this rifle?
Mike
Update: I just got through on the phone with Colt today and they said they are about 2-3 weeks from introducing a rail system for the LE6900 tube handguard.
They will be available at http://coltcompetitionrifle.com
