Paper cartridges revisited

I've read about paper cartridges in the past, looked up the thread in the "Essentials" sticky, and searched, but they are all archived threads, and the pictures dont appear. Are there any threads new enough that have pictures active?
 
The pics in archived threads dont show up, even when logged in. They just have an attachment number.
 
Did you try the one started by Timuchin? It was started in 2005 so I figured it was archived. I think it's about the 7th or 8th one down the on the essentials.
 
Yes, thats the one I tried first before searching. All I found were old enough to be in archive, none had functioning pictures.
 
I don't know what could be wrong. I just checked it and it worked for me. Hope you can get it to work because there are lots of good pictures. Good luck.
 
Just tried it again, even checked the "remember me" box. Still the archive, plain text (antique, super plain looking format). All the pics are just numbers, nothing shows.
 
Make sure the image option is turned on. (show images needs to be checked)

Open User Options in Green bar at the top of the blackpowder page.

Then down a little on left side of that page, click on Edit Options.

On the right window pane of new page scrol down to, Thread Display Options.


Visible Post Elements

You have the option to show or hide various elements of messages, which may be of use to users on slow internet connections, or who want to remove extraneous clutter from posts.

Show Signatures
Show Avatars
Show Images (including attached images and images in code)

----------------------------------------------------------------------

There is also the option to turn on and off images in windows internet options,
on your computer.

It is even possable you are logging on to the wrong site. make sure it is this one: [url]http://www.thehighroad.org/[/url]
It seems I found another address once for the same site. Might have a time when this one was down.

At the top the title of the thread should be in a bold color (blue on my computer). Click on that and it should reload the standard skin and show the pix...at least it does for me.
 
Yes, its the one Timuchin started.

I have all the options set up correctly.

I dont have the blue thread title option. when I click on the link in the "essentials" sticky, it takes me to a extremely plain looking page, no colors other than some words are blue, with some pale greyish borders and all the attachments just have an attachment or link id number, no way that I can tell to make them appear. It looks like what a forum might have in about 1995. I've gotten this "archived" thread version on older threads many times, I thought everyone got it.

I copied the address of what comes up when I go to the thread through the link. Dont know what it will show for others.

I clicked on your link and when it opened (at the top) where it says View Full Version: Paper Cartridges, step by step photos, click on the underlined, highlighted Paper Cartridges, step by step photos. It should open the full version skin with photos. It does for me.:)
 
Interesting. There isn't a full view option on my screen when I go there.

Most unusual.

Can you go the the full view version, copy the address, then post it here?
 
Um, I think IE 7 or 8. Basic system is XP. My laptop is about 6 or so years old. I tend to run them till the wheels fall off.
 
It goes to the same archived version when I click your link.

Bummer. I recall it was a great thread.
 
Very strange. When I click on it I get the full thread with photos.

I suggest you change browsers; I'm running Firefox 21.0.
 
When you open that page you get, did you try clicking on view view original page at the top?
(it will be the link right to the right of those words)

Also when you hover your mouse pointer over the last address I posted, (without clicking it) Is the same address showing in the pop up box at the bottom of the screen?

It should be the same.

There is no option for "original view" when I open it.

The informational deal at the lower left looks fine when I hover on the link. It shows exactly like it looks in the link, it just ends up going to the archive version when I actually click it.
