I picked up a Marlin Model 60 today at Dick's. I'm real happy with the wood, I think its pretty nice. I was there a couple months ago and the one they had in stock had a front brass pinned sight, the one I picked up today is just a black blade. I'd really like to find a brass pinned or bead sight for it. I have see through rings (Weaver) on the way. Can someone point me in the direction of the front sight I'm looking for?
Also, any guidance on trigger help would be great. I just shot it and the trigger is terrible. Fired smoothly though, and to point of aim with 3 types of ammo.

No Model 60 fans out there?
I know as far as semi autos go, the 10/22 takes the majority of fans but.. lets hear from the Model 60 fans <please> don't be shy!

The trigger on a 60 is what it is. Shoot the snot out of it and she'll smooth out some, maybe get a hair lighter on the pull. Even though the triggers aren't great I think you'll find it to be an accurate shooter. Love those Micro-Groove barrels.

You don't have to live with the factory trigger. There are at least three different solutions and they all work pretty well. Cost vary from free to about $70. Check out the Marlin Auto section of

I have two M60's and l like them both I have done the triggers on them in different ways both are good triggers.

thank you all, i'll check out the rimfirecentral forum.

nice rifle by the way, Furncliff!

Great stock on your new 60. I got mine at dicks as well but it is a very plain stock. Looks like the year before and the year after, the base model has a nicer stock.

Still is a lot of fun making it go bang. There is a thread on the Marlin trigger/hammer/sear on rimfire central and also at Marlin Owners forums.
